Wastewater from Ohio train derailment to be treated in Maryland

State Delegates Ryan Nawrocki and Kathy Szeliga along with Baltimore City Councilmember Zeke Cohen all voicing major concern about 675k gallons of wastewater to be processed in Baltimore.

The 19 train cars full of contaminated water direct from East Palestine Ohio will arrive by train.

Clean Harbors on Russell street just south of downtown Baltimore will receive the water and process it before sending it to the Back River Water Treatment plant to be released back into Maryland waterways.

Many argue Back River Treatment and DPW has far too many issues to simply handle normal water let alone known toxic wastewater.

A Baltimore City councilmember is pushing to ban all gas powered blowers in Baltimore City.
He claims the noise and pollution is enough to ban them.

Landscapers argue the more expensive battery blowers do not work as well and require two to three times the hourly rate to get the same job done.
The batteries also lose power within four hours or have to stop for "overheating."

Others ask what will be banned next?
