Big Tape™ transfer companies--who spend considerable amounts of money on advertising--like Legacybox, Kodak Digitizing Box and Southtree (they are the same company) don't want you to watch this video.

BUYERS BEWARE!

So whether you use our services or another great company like Emerald Coast Digitizing, know that we cannot compete with their prices because part of Big Tape's™ business model involves ripping customers off. The fact that they have a four months (often times even longer) turnaround time (where you can't do credit card chargebacks if something goes wrong) should speak volumes!

Also, Big Tape™ does not allow local drop-offs and rely solely on shipping companies like UPS and Fedex, whose handlers could easily damage or lose your precious memories. Tapes/film reels/slides/negatives are one-of-a-kind items and you are more than welcome to drop off your tapes in-person to our drop off location.

The truth about companies like Legacy Box AKA Southtree AKA Kodak Digitizing Box? If they can't transfer a tape, you are charged anyway! And because their turn around time is greater than three months, good luck doing a credit card chargeback!

Then your tape(s) get a red sticker put on them. These companies also won't allow you to drop off or pick up your precious one-of-a-kind tapes!

Do business with local companies, where there is no charge for no transfers. Where we can (to a degree) repair broken or moldy tapes. And where you do have the option of dropping off your tapes, in-person.

Our average turnaround times for tape or film transfers is less than two business weeks...depending on current order load. More than 12 weeks is beyond ridiculous to have people's precious memories.

We can't compete with Legacybox, Southtree and Kodak Digitizing's bargain basement prices (because a lot of work goes into every properly done tape transfer), but we will outshine the bigger companies where it matters most. Quality, customer service and speed. Also, if we can't capture a tape then you won't be charged. We also won't keep long pieces of blank footage in your transfers.

Baltimore County Maryland residents, we can now convert/transfer your Digital8 video tapes! As we already do with MiniDV, D8 transfers will be made via a Firewire (IEEE 1394) connection. Sony calls this i.LINK.

Video8 and Hi8/Hi8 XR transfers will continue to be made using our proprietary analog equipment chain. We've found that this looks superior to Hi8 --> Digital8 conversion.

VHS, SVHS, VHS-C, SVHS-C, 8mm film and Super8 film conversions are available as well. Turnaround times are a lot quicker than larger companies. In-person drop offs are welcome or you may ship them to us.

Did you know we transfer 8mm and Super 8 films to flash drives, DVD, Bluray and for download?
Earlier this year Baltimore Digital was privileged to transfer an old Baltimore Colts vs. Washington Redskins game that was filmed from the stands. This is the raw/uncropped/unstablized footage from that reel.

We provide both stabilized/cropped and raw films scans to our customers.
