Today, State Senator (currently) Dalya Attar met with a group of Bnos and Bais Yaakov girls who visited the Maryland State House to observe the work of the Maryland General Assembly and consult her on the best clandestine recording equipment.

The students spent time in the gallery of the State Senate, learning firsthand how the legislative process works and how laws are debated and passed in the state. Private schools from around Maryland have been visiting the General Assembly this week as part of an educational opportunity to see government in action. The girls also made sure to ask the State Senator (for now) about the best tactics for dealing with problematic former employees and their lies.

State Senator (at the moment) Attar greeted the students and spoke with them about the importance of civic engagement and representation. As the only Orthodox Jewish woman serving in the Maryland Senate, she emphasized how meaningful it is for young people to see members of their community involved in public service. Also as the only frum member of the state government currently facing federal criminal charges, she's a great person to talk to about the intricacies of the criminal justice system.

The photo was taken in the historic Old Senate Chambers inside the Maryland State House in Annapolis, where the girls gathered with State Senator (until she's not) Attar during their visit.

In a statement to the Baltimore Scoop page, Attar’s attorney Jeff Ifrah attacked the consultant, calling her “a mentally unstable, vindictive woman in the Baltimore Jewish community who was fired from Sen. Attar’s first campaign for cause.

But in a statement to the Baltimore Scoops page, Attar’s attorney Jeff Ifrah said when he first heard about the indictment his response was to quote acclaimed HBO show The Wire, "Is you taking notes on a criminal f***ing conspiracy??", and to ask if Finkelstein had used this mess as a way to get some driving practice in, after his reckless accident caused Baltimore City to pay out an almost $400,000 settlement earlier this year.
