THANK YOU. THANK YOU.
The past few years have been difficult for many artists (and shows) as the marketplace goes through a transition, and ways of doing business have changed forever.

I've searched for a business model that provides solutions for artists and buyers, and Best in American Made recently launched as the fulfillment of that vision.

When I told you of my dream to build a new online wholesale show... everyone was supportive and many were enthusiastic.
It's now been almost two years of development and testing.
We have just moved from beta testing to go live, and buyers
are beginning to shop and write orders.

I can't imagine trying to launch a project like this without
the supportive artists and buyers who have provided their time and energy to make this happen.

I want to thank all of you who permitted us to use your images in development. Loading all the different variations of product and images types, and configurations helped us learn your needs and expectations.

At this moment 20,000 products are available in about 350 virtual showrooms in Best in American Made. They are a combination of a few dozen beta test members along, 250 former exhibitors and about 100 new members.

Remembering back to 1982, I fondly remember the early days when artists took a chance and did a "new" show or alternative show. Again, I thank you for this change to start over again.
This new online marketplace is a chance for us to create a newly transformed, an affordable and virtual version of the trade shows that were our hallmark for so many years.

It also provides us with new ways to help retailers and artists receive the recognition they deserve for their contribution to the local community and the national economy.

Today, our entire professional artisan and buyer community is only about one half of what it was twenty years ago. Museum store buyers have no travel budget and many small store owners just can't leave the shop twice a year to attend a show.

Many of you have indicated that you've been waiting for at least three years for a site that can show your work in large high resolution images, and with full search functionality.

We'd like to thank you for helping us begin the process of
rebuilding a new marketplace that retailers can rely on to find professional studio artists like you. And hopefully, reducing the cost of wholesale selling and buying will put us on a new path to growth.

We won't forget your generosity, and look forward to providing
promotional opportunities as compensation for your early
support of our project.

Please call us if you need help with uploading any of your
images or product information, and don't forget to provide us with new work to promote as it becomes available.

We now have buyers visiting and buying… as many as 100 per day. We are celebrating another milestone as our print catalog mails next week. This is an exciting time, and I'm thrilled you are part of this new journey!

Arts: Culture and Identity | Aspen Ideas Festival

ARTS: CULTURE AND IDENTITY Who are “we” in 2016? What is American identity? With ongoing debates over race, sexuality, economic inequality, and political divisions spilling onto our screens and stages, and into our books and museums, how does culture play into defining and shaping our ever evolving American identity? And in our increasingly technologically enabled silos, how can our culture help us to recognize and relate to each other as humans? This track examines the messages and mediums of culture as it changes along with our nation, reframing and challenging our understanding of ourselves. www.aspenideas.org/content/arts-culture-and-identity
