It is Summer, hot, dry and California wine country is not spared from 🔥 season. We are safe in Yountville (18 miles South) from the Pickett Fire in Calistoga, Angwin, Pope Valley AVA’s.
Friday afternoon, 🔥 7% contained with 2235 acres burning. Some wineries involved. No injuries.

Challenges presented include accessing the edge of the fire, as it is burning in remote and un-populated areas with limited access.

Scoooop in Town of Yountville! Beginning 8/2, Burgers & Half Bottles to Yountville — a 10-week pop-up dedicated to classic American comfort food.

Located at 6518 Washington Street—formerly calenda the fast-casual, family-friendly space will be open Wednesday through Sunday, from 12pm t-8pm. No reservations—just walk in and enjoy.

On the menu: burgers, lobster rolls, fried chicken sandwiches, crinkle-cut fries, and Bouchon Bakery 🍦, sandwiches and milkshakes.

Drinks offering are a curated selection of local wines by the glass or half bottle, and five beers on tap from River brewing—including Pliny the Elder—all served from their vintage 1965 red VW Brew Bus. Lost Coast Brewery Root Beer is on tap too. I checked it out and it is adorable.

Had a fabulous afternoon in Sonoma, CA.
I met new friends. Had an arugula salad with local Laura Chenel goat cheese, ripe figs and chopped walnuts. Topped off a visit to Sonoma Plaza with an Afigato atop a scoop of fabulous spumoni @ The Chocolate Cow.

And shopped local! Fun time!
