Who We Are

It was Thomas Jefferson who said, “A well informed citizenry is the best defense against tyranny.” We at Lone Star Truth Initiative (LSTI) wholeheartedly agree, which is why our organization came to be. Though certainly the election of 2020 was the catalyst, our focus is on more than that. Our purpose is to educate Texans on what is happening in our great Lone Sta

r State as well as in our nation, and using that knowledge and love for liberty to spur into action. We continually search for current articles of public interest, news stories, and blogs, putting them all in one place—our website www.LoneStarTruthInitiative.com/blog and our page, with as little duplication as possible. This makes being informed easier for you. America is long past the days where voting for someone because they had an “R” or "D" after their name, or trusting that bills before committees are thought out and, in our country’s best interest. The time has come to let your voice be heard. Why We Do It

Over 200 years ago 56 men signed a piece of parchment proclaiming (maybe dedicating? Committing? Pledging—founders’ words) their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor for this country. Since then, our nation has seen the best and worst of humanity. We’ve freed ourselves from an unjust king, freed slaves from cruel bo***ge, stormed beaches and liberated those subjected to unspeakable cruelty. We’ve birthed captains of industry, science, and the arts. We were the first to break the sound barrier, land a man on the moon, and decode the human genome. And now, we cannot look away while our rights are eroded and our Constitution is in tatters. We cover our hearts when the flag goes by, we will not cover our eyes while tyranny abounds. But what if…. Though not everyone can do great things, anyone can do small things in a great way. Every citizen has the ability to make a difference, big or small, in their community for the cause of Liberty. Do you have five minutes and hands? Then you can read an article and send an email. You can forward the email to a friend. Do you have a voice? Then you can call your representative, using the script we post or just speaking from your heart, and tell them your thoughts on a bill or an issue. Do you love this country? Then you have all it takes to defend her. Join us and the cause for liberty.

State of Florida vs. Flock Cameras:
On August 31, 2026, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) revoked permits for automated license plate reader (ALPR) cameras, including Flock cameras, located within State Highway System rights-of-way and ordered their removal within 30 days. FDOT also indicated it would no longer approve new ALPR installations in those state-controlled highway areas.

What Florida Did Not Do
Florida did not:
• Ban Flock cameras statewide.
• Ban Flock cameras on county roads or city streets.
• Ban Flock cameras on private property, shopping centers, gated communities, HOA property, or commercial developments.
• Pass a state law making possession or use of Flock cameras illegal throughout Florida.

Why the State Acted
FDOT cited:
• Privacy concerns,
• Reports of misuse,
• Surveillance concerns, and
• Rapid expansion of the camera network across Florida roadways.

Governor Ron DeSantis publicly expressed concern that the technology could contribute to a "surveillance state," while acknowledging its usefulness for law enforcement investigations.

Possible Future Changes
There are discussions about broader restrictions. For example, State Senator Jason Brodeur announced an intention to file legislation that could ban or significantly restrict Flock cameras and similar systems statewide as currently deployed. However, as of now, that is a proposal, not enacted law.
