For anyone who needs to hear this today…
I’ve been reflecting on the things that fell apart.
The people who left seemingly for no reason, without explanation.
The ones who only stuck around when the sun was shining in your life, but disappeared when the thunder came.
Maybe it was never because there was something wrong with you.
Maybe it was because you are a vibrant shade of green.
The things that fell apart required you to try so hard to be blue.
The people who left? Maybe their favorite color was purple. And no matter how beautiful your green was, they were always going to wish you were purple.
And the ones who only loved you when the sun was shining? Maybe they weren’t there because they loved your green at all. They were there because of what your light gave them—and when they stopped getting what they wanted, they left.
But there are people who absolutely love green.
People who will see you and think,
“Wow. I’ve never seen a green look so beautiful before.”
And that’s what happens when we stop exhausting ourselves trying to become the color someone else wants us to be.
We become easier for the right people to recognize.
The right people.
The right places.
The right opportunities.
They stop feeling like they’re hiding from us.
Because when you’re no longer trying to blend in as blue or purple…
Your green stands out.
Vibrant.Unmistakable.
And finally, completely obvious to everything that was looking for green all along.
