🇺🇸 Please vote today - March 12th, 8am - 7pm at Bartlett Town Hall, 56 Town Hall Road. 🇺🇸 Here are my goals as Bartlett School Board member:
✅ Push for JBES to return to Blue Ribbon School status by implementing the strategic plan that was developed in collaboration with the school board, JBES leadership, and parents.
✅ Continue to build upon the improvements in wages and benefits to attract professionals to our current 7 openings (25% of staff).
✅ Encourage the town to develop workforce housing in some form or fashion for JBES teachers & staff.
✅ Address the needs of students who tested below their grade level in one or multiple subjects.
✅ Expand preschool classroom capacity to eliminate the current waiting list. Evaluate possible solutions, half-day scheduling, or alternative day scheduling, that may work better for parents and children with different needs.
✅ Create a vigorous learning environment for our students and staff. This may mean hiring a full-time school psychologist to develop and reinforce behavior that leads to success.
✅ Engage the community to volunteer and become mentors, homework helpers, or tutors.
✅ Provide a start-of-year workshop that gives parents the skills to develop and reinforce student behaviors necessary to build good habits for academic and life success.
✅ Advocate for Federal and State grants to reduce the burden on the taxpayer. Millions of dollars of funding are available to us but are being sent to other school districts because we lack the resources to even apply for them. We should move quickly before these funds run out.
