Finding a sense of community is an ongoing challenge for me, so I’m captivated by those who get it right. is one of those places, an apartment complex in Mid City Baton Rouge for those who aren’t just looking for a room to rent, but a place to belong.

I made a short documentary about Mid City Flats that will be screening at Henry Turner Jr’s Listening Room Film Festival on opening night, Dec 3, during the Lousiana shorts block that starts at 6:30 PM. This is the design I put together to help get the word out.

Got to play with some effects for the Mickey Gaidos BMX video I shot with the Canon-1D X Mark II. A few days ago, I released the behind-the-scenes video for that shoot. It ended up being a chance to talk about not just how the camera performed and how the effects came together, but also about some ideas and dilemmas I’ve been wrestling with lately.

One of the central questions of the video, which I’ll link to below, is whether it makes sense to try to do something great, even if the attempt doesn’t work out of if the effort involved goes unappreciated, or whether embracing ordinary life with all of its comforts and conveniences is a better way to go. I tried to make a compelling case for both outlooks before sharing my conclusions.
