Showers & thunderstorms are likely for tomorrow. Due to all the rain most of the region has received, some street flooding will be possible over the weekend especially if any storms rain a long time over the same areas. After this, a gradual drying trend should begin Monday with generally dry weather expected to last through at least Wednesday or Thursday. Right now, next weekend appears to feature rising moisture levels once again leading to an increase in rain chances, but a lot can change this far out. Highs will return to the lower 90s for most of Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana by Monday.

We’ve been tracking the deeper Gulf moisture for several days now. As forecasted, wind shear continues to prevent any development — but it has brought on-and-off downpours across the Gulf Coast this week. This moisture will finally wrap up and mix out Sunday into Monday so we begin to dry out some next week!

Locally: isolated spots could still pick up another 1–3 inches of rain through Sunday. As always we’re watching the tropics around the clock. This time of year, deeper moisture often pulls up from Central America region.

Good Friday morning! We’ve already have some downpours this morning, with the heaviest activity just north of the Houston metro over Aldine and another over Winnie. More rain offshore is pushing toward the coast and inland through the rest of the morning.

This afternoon, highs will reach the mid to upper 80s with at least 50% coverage of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some could bring locally heavy rainfall, just like we’ve seen the past couple of days. This active pattern holds through the weekend but moisture starts to decrease early next week. That means lower rain chances by next week vs this past week, along with warmer temperatures as highs get back into the 90’s.
