DAT Freight & Analytics DAT Freight & Analytics: Taking the Uncertainty Out of Freight When 183 million loads and trucks are posted on your network of load boards, and $118 billion of freight bills are recorded in your truckload rate engine, there’s a reason the industry regards your super-database as “the truckload pricing index standard for the North American trucking market.” In a time when rapid innovation challenges current business models, DAT has pushed its technology leadership forward while facilitating the relationships our industry is built on.

DAT provides benchmarking, forecasting, and capacity planning that are critical to operational efficiency, plus decades of experience that give us a thorough understanding of the intricacies of the trucking industry. We have added a team of data science engineers to support our front-line data analytics group in revealing business-critical information and insights from the volumes of data available to us. It’s all founded on two fundamentals: brokers need trucks, and carriers need loads. In 2016 DAT and Getloaded combined networks to create one super-database, the industry's largest and most diverse on-demand freight exchange for spot truckload freight. That alone boosted DAT’s available capacity by 36%. Since 2015, DAT has doubled the capacity of carriers available to load providers. These carriers represent north of 1.3 million trucks. The consolidation also enabled Getloaded’s broker customers to access 400% more truckloads. And all of these loads can be easily accessed from anywhere with the DAT Load Board for Truckers app. DAT’s products include transportation management software, DAT Fleet Compliance services, carrier monitoring and onboarding, truck and trailer tracking, and a comprehensive directory of companies with business history, credit, safety, insurance, and company reviews. The Original Load Board The company was established in 1978 as the Dial-A-Truck (DAT) load finder service at Jubitz® truck stop in Portland, Oregon. Though the technology and delivery systems have changed greatly since that time, DAT remains the central marketplace where transportation professionals meet and transact business in the spot market. As a service to the industry, DAT provides data on trends, including a monthly spot market freight index and weekly Trendlines updates. Every day, transportation professionals depend on DAT to help their businesses operate more efficiently and profitably. Poised for Growth DAT and DAT TruckersEdge are owned by Roper Technologies, a publicly traded company (NYSE: ROP) that also owns the other major load board in North America: Link Logistics (Canada). DAT's award-winning customer service, billing, product development, and maintenance reside at the company's new, 55,000-square-foot headquarters in Beaverton, OR, which is equipped to handle the rapidly growing customer base.

In the early stages of the pandemic, steelmakers closed or idled around one-third of their plants as customers canceled orders during the spring. Now they're struggling to keep up with demand from U.S. manufacturers.

Winter produce increases reefer volumes from Mexico - DAT

In contrast to dry van, reefer volumes in all of our top 10 markets increased by 10% w/w on average. With the exception of Elizabeth, NJ (#1), where rates are up $0.03/mile, available capacity continued to loosen with spot rates down for the fourth week in a row in the remaining nine markets. https://bit.ly/2WFjApb

The deeper we get into winter, the further south shippers go to meet U.S. demand for winter produce, which is why, at this time of the year, we start to see an increase in volume across the southern border from Mexico.

.One of the themes of the pandemic-driven freight market has been tight capacity, which has driven up spot rates to record levels and put upward pressure on contract rates at the same time.

More capacity in the refrigerated sector is one possible outcome of the recent interim final rule published by the FMCSA, which clarifies agricultural commodity and livestock definitions in hours-of-service regulations.

You should have a teaser level to your load board without the broker and phone number listed for people thinking about taking the plunge into self dispatch or getting their own authority. Access to the live load board would really make the choice easier if a person could see what loads look like on a day to day basis in the areas they want to be in.
Do not pick up any loads from this company! They will not pay you! My father picked up a load for this company and delivered it. They told him they would pay him & they did not!!!! Frauds! I kept calling these ppl and people w middle eastern accents kept answering the phone acting like they would take me information then hang up in my face. So we would call from different numbers and they would answer and hang up. There will be a way I’m going to make sure they are removed from the truck industry for fraud
My Dad was a trucker. The last place he worked is Ruan trucking in Des Moines. They hauled gas.
