Fantastic morning in the garden. Every year everyone a part of MediaFX comes in to help get the garden going for summer. The extra food we grow goes to our local food bank, Bethlehem House of Bread.

We live in the richest country in the world, yet kids from working class families in the US are developing malnutrition. Please do your part and make a difference for your community. Don’t just give money, get to know people in your community. One or two hours of help in a month could make a world of difference.

Today I saw some tiny zucchini’s coming in. They grow so fast in about a week they’ll be ready to harvest.

Today we shot two videos on some cool and crazy drones. Here is the most unique one. It’s called Elios and it’s designed to be used to inspect the inside of machinery. The cage protects the drone as it bumps up against walls. Cool.

Just wrapped a shoot for Flir. They are thermal imagining Gods and they gave us one of their proto types to explore. Love playing with the Drone toys. RFTC rocks and the MFX crew loves to please.

When working with actors it is really critical to listen as a director. It should not be a directors job to tell an actor how to do their job. What’s important is to work as part of a team to give the talent assistance, so they can see the big picture. They need to trust you. A big mistake I often see is when a director feeds actors lines in the way that the director sees it. Then you get an actor parroting the director. Disastrous. In rehearsal I like to show my actors any storyboards, and set up angles to record rehearsals so that the talent will know what the audience will see and can focus on the details of their performance. Its theirs and the director has to have trust in that. It’s the little things in a performance that can make the biggest difference in a movie.

This was a PSA we shot. We converted a barn into an outdoor roadside accident scene. With these small productions I love to light as well as direct. Creating the atmosphere with good light is so critical and it’s great fun to play. Just love to make an audience believe in the reality of the illusion. Magic😎
