OSAAtoday | Working together to bring back high school activities

If you want High School Sports and Activities in the Fall...It's a SIMPLE as wearing Face Coverings and watching your Physical Distance.

"We can do this – TOGETHER and UNITED. Fall sports may not start on time. All sports may not be able to be conducted in the fall because of risk of infection. Some participants in sports or performing arts activities may have to quarantine if they test positive. But if we work TOGETHER and think about the other person, we stand a chance of providing students a chance to return to these vital activities."

UMHB appeal denied; Cru must vacate title

Whoa! The NCAA Came down Hard on UMHB! A little unnecessary I say given the Fact The Cru Self-Reported! Dang think of what they would do if a school doesn’t self report. #MessageSent #WrathNCAA

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor must vacate football wins in which a student-athlete competed while ineligible, according to a decision issued by the NCAA Division III Infractions Appeals Committee. That includes wins in 2016 and 2017, including the national title.

So here are the OSAA Phase Two Guidelines for High School Football...
Limit sharing of balls/equipment to within pods. Disinfect
equipment frequently. Maintain appropriate physical distancing 6
feet apart. Contact with other players is not allowed, and tackling
dummies / donuts / sleds should be cleaned before use by
another pod. Protective equipment prohibited.

So maybe in an effort to Let the Student-Athletes play this Fall, Maybe we see Organized Flag Football, NO TACKLING! NO PHYSICAL CONDUCT!

OSAAtoday | Prep sports, performing arts essential to health, well-being

Education-based sports, performing arts and other activity programs are essential to the health and well-being of high school students. More than ever before, these programs are crucial and can be a way for students, coaches, parents, fans, officials and others to heal and move forward.

Westside Mobile Media

As of right now Westside Mobile Media anticipates there being high school sports in the fall. Most counties (as of last night and today) have been approved for Phase 2 and although Washington County is CURRENTLY not in that list, I think it’s safe to assume (based on the timing of counties approved for Phase 1) it will likely only be a couple of weeks at most for us to get to Phase 2. What that looks like might be a little scary. Lots of different proposals are being considered including switching the timing of football and baseball seasons. Regardless, Westside Mobile Media May be needed now more than ever with the possibility fans may not be in the stands come September. We would like to gather a list of possible sponsors for the upcoming 2020-21 Banks Braves athletics season. We will not ask for payment however until we receive confirmation from OSAA that Fall sports will take place. Sponsors will also be included in our new weekly podcast “Westside Weekly Wrap-up” (once sports return) presented by LaHaie’s. We also plan on expanding to include live video coverage. Also joining me this Fall will be Jonathan Lee most recently involved with Linfield broadcasts.

Excited and honored to get back to the Broadcast Table this Fall to help bring Banks HS Athletics to your listening space and TV Screen with Westside Mobile Media. #GoBraves
