MINOR SHOT IN BEDFORD DURING SUNDAY DRUG DEAL
THE FORT WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM REPORTS: A minor has been hospitalized with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound after he was shot during a planned narcotics transaction, according to the Bedford Police Department. Bedford police officers were called to a medical facility in Hurst, where the victim was being treated, just after 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The victim initially told investigators the shooting resulted from a road rage situation on Airport Freeway according to a news release.
Detectives later learned the juvenile and his friend had arranged to meet another person in Bedford for the illegal drug deal. At that time, the injured boy’s friend began to get out of the vehicle and an unknown suspect fired several rounds into the car, according to the release. At least one shot hit the victim, who was sitting in the passenger seat. The victim’s friend drove him to the medical facility, police said. The Bedford Police Department said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident that is under active investigation. No arrests have been announced as of today.
