Sunday! ❤️❤️❤️

WINGDING AT WATERFALL ARTS is this Sunday! Last summer, we partnered with the Free Range Music Series to put on a free outdoor concert to celebrate 10 years in Belfast. We had so much fun, we're doing it again! This year will feature stellar performances by Starcrossed Losers and William Joseph Jiordan. We'll be dishing up John's Ice Cream and Sweet Henry's will be onsite with all sorts of delicious eats. Attendees will have the opportunity to work with artist Susan Smith on a community project that will be presented in conjunction with our fall Arrival exhibition. AND there will be plenty of chalk to go around to decorate the building. Sounds like a blast, right? We'll see you Sunday at 4:00pm! More info at waterfallarts.org

March Forth! For LifeFlight, featuring the Huntertones, is this Saturday at the Rockport Opera House - another super amazing Birthday Benefit event! Shannon Thompson created the Birthday Benefit party 7 years ago to celebrate her birthday in a fun and meaningful way, bringing together great people and great music to raise a pile of money to donate to a good cause. This year's event will be an indoor street party in the spirit of Carnival and Mardi Gras, with costumes, masks, and Brooklyn-based brass band the Huntertones. Before the show, enjoy an indoor street fair food fest with nosh by Home Kitchen Cafe and tunes from the Bill Barnes Jazz Trio. Proceeds will benefit Lifeflight of Maine, Maine's nonprofit critical care transporter, a service that has personally touched our lives and the lives of many in our area.

For more info visit http www.birthdaybenefit.org. We'll see you there!

Hollow Horse is beautiful music by Sofia of Squinch Owl/ Thorn & Shout made right here in the wild woods of Waldo County.

The show will follow the opening of Handmade in the Clifford Gallery at Waterfall Arts! Read more here: https://goo.gl/BGaHe9

ScuffleHoeDown! a VFA harvest celebration w/ HYMN for HER is this Saturday! We'll be joining Veggies For All and Maine Farmland Trust to celebrate this year's harvest and the 100s of people that helped make it happen. Buy tickets here: https://goo.gl/Yhwid7

Artist spotlight: Hymn For Her is Lucy and Wayne Waxing. Their newest release "Drive Til U Die" is more than an album title, it’s a manifesto. A mantra. But to call this Americana duo and their daughter road warriors would be a misnomer; to them, the road isn’t a battleground to conquer, it’s their beloved home. A nomadic tribe of three, they dwell in a ’61-vintage Bambi Airstream towed by a Ford van whose odometer shows nearly half a million miles – which, they proudly note, equals a trip to the moon. And back. Lucy and Wayne, who share a fondness for rustic life, have been described as “hillbillies with electronics,” while their sound has drawn such amusing phrasery as “a riotous, rocking roadkill stew,” “juiced-up backwoods country blues [injected] with a dose of desert-rock psychedelia” and “Hell’s Angels meet the Amish.”

Earlier this year, we teamed up with Free Range Music Series to kick-off of Veggies for All’s 9th year of hunger relief with a breathtaking performance by William Joseph Jiordan and Henry Finch. Artist Spotlight: Travis Cyr of Aroostook County drives his freight train of cerebral Americana folk & roots music all around the beautiful state of Maine. Quiet and gentle yet vast and strong, his songs are full of vividly honest and poetic lyrics and emotionally percussive acoustic guitar. Travis is also the founder of the Arootsakoostik Music Festival, an annual celebration of Maine music in New Sweden. If you've never been, you're missing out!

Travis will be performing on Saturday night with Mr & Mrs Soucy at Three Tides & Marshall Wharf Brewing Company. Visit www.freerangemusicseries.com for more event details.

Artist Spotlight - Mr. & Mrs. Soucy of Liberty are Garrett and Siiri Soucy. Garrett is a writer and musician, often regarded as one of the most revered songwriters in Maine. He has been writing lyrics for close to 20 years and has been the singer/songwriter for a number of critically acclaimed projects, including Tree by Leaf with Siiri and Sunlight in Architecture. “The Procession of the Ram” is Mr. & Mrs. Soucy’s most recent release.

Mr & Mrs Soucy will be performing along with Travis Cyr at Three Tides & Marshall Wharf Brewing Company on Saturday night. No cover! 21+. Check www.freerangemusicseries.com for more info.

“Need I mention that Garrett Soucy can write lyrics like freakin’ Shakespeare and sing ’em like Garth Brooks?...Add to this the tasteful musicianship on ‘Wayword’ and you have a truly exceptional folk record. Amen to that.” Chris Busby, The Bollard

“Widely admired as one of the best songwriters Maine has ever produced.” - The Portland Phoenix

“As bold a statement as anyone has made lyrically in Maine in years.” - Emily Burnham, Bangor Daily News on the song “Living Conformists and Dead Troublemakers.”

Alright, y'all ready for this? We have TWO don't-miss-this events coming up this weekend. And both are FREE! On Saturday night, Mr & Mrs Soucy (Garrett and Siiri of Tree by Leaf fame backed by James Simpson, Matthew Bertram, Bernie Nye, Alex Oakes, and former Tree By Leaf drummer Eric Sanders) will be performing along with Travis Cyr (visiting us from way up in the County) at Three Tides & Marshall Wharf Brewing Company on Saturday at 8:30 (21+). And THEN....on Sunday, we're teaming up with our good pals at Waterfall Arts to celebrate their 10th year in Belfast with a bang! Lots of banging, actually. The What Cheer? Brigade will be coming up from Providence to help us celebrate along with Belfast's own Random Beats Street Band, commemorative merch live printed by Fast Food Prints, and sweet treats and eats from Sweet Henry's and more! Event is all ages and starts at 3:30. Read more about both at www.freerangemusicseries.com and help us spread the word by sharing (please and thanks).
