"One of the most bizarre recordings of the year is this collection of sounds from an amusement park in Kathmandu, Nepal, made by the macabre master of tape manipulation Aaron Dilloway. Though Dilloway seemingly stumbled upon the Kathmandu Fun Park and its haunted house, the place is perfectly tailored to his style. The highlight is the entrance soundtrack of bone-chilling screams blasted through overblown speakers, but the dilapidated rides—including out-of-control bumper cars and a broken ferris wheel—also provide suitable sonic mayhem. These are the cheapest of thrills, full of sound effects that wouldn’t even qualify for a B movie. In other words, it’s pure gold just waiting to be mined by someone like Dilloway."

Psychic Sounds now offers a proper vinyl release of the raw, unfiltered document 'Bhoot Ghar: Sounds of the Kathmandu Horror House', compiled field recordings by Aaron Dilloway.

"....crude, rusted animatronics & ghoulish mannequins triggered by sensors releasing bursts of mechanical clanking & electric humming creating chaotic collisions of questionable in-house rigs likened to Survival Research Laboratories. Listeners become the ghost-on-wall witnessing confused, sometimes disturbed, patrons trying to find an exit which all contributes to a disorienting, psychedelic atmosphere. The layered distorted, crackling audio soundtrack sewn from various ancient theme parks, cut-up "ghost host" narration, Indian horror tv show music, heavily effected vocals & eerie samples all get funneled through the "busted sound system" further adding to the surreal, unnerving experience." This deluxe edition includes the original Hanson Records cassette bonus material also getting a supreme update with mastered audio along with newly reworked cover artwork, and a full color double sided insert of photos including all the entertaining notes in their fully insane glory. W pradawnych czasach istniał The Skaters; duet Jamesa Ferraro i Spencera Clarka. Tworzyli starożytne artefakty, emanujące z najgłębszych pokładów wyobraźni. Wykorzystując okultystyczne zaśpiewy, plemienne bębny i mglistą atmosferę lo-hi na granicy drone – noise, rozbłyskujące na granicy horyzontu. Ich, często wydawane własnym sumptem wydawnictwa, charakteryzowały się w pewnym sensie monochromatycznymi okładkami, z wypełnionymi „dezorientującymi” tekstami/ grafikami. Potencjalny odbiorca doznawał tzw. gotowania umysłu, gdzie wyobraźnia dopiero otwierała swoje niekończące się krainy.

OUT NOW!: Last week we released this beauty in collaboration with Mississippi Records - sublime spiritual piano improvisations inspired by the teachings of Armenian mystic GI Gurdjieff.

Willem Nyland was a trained chemist and spiritual teacher who transmitted his knowledge through a specially tuned piano for followers and fellow travelers in upstate NY.

He released 16 records on his own Gage Hill Press, with stunning artwork by his wife, Hungarian-American artist and designer Ilonka Karasz. The records are hard to find, but Nyland left enough of a trace that we were able to pick up the trail, which started for us soon after the 2012 release of Gurdjieff ‘Improvisations’.

Years in the works, this couldn’t have happened without collaboration from dozens of people around the world. Special shout to music excavator for connecting with the Nyland family, Sam Wenc and for doing some heavy research, Cyrus & Eric for connecting the currents , Matt Marble of the American Museum of Paramusicology for his careful and thoughtful research, Jasper, Jovi, and everyone who shared materials, stories and background.

This is music meant to be listened to closely, surrounded by other people committing their time and energy to this ultra-human task, recognizing that something special happens when we do that together.

It was an honor to have worked on the design & screen printed art edition for deep seekers as well!
