Hellloooooo 👋🏼👋🏼 I’m alive!!!! 😂😂
After lots of processing of Season 1…I’m feeling ready to explore Season 2 and what that may bring!! Super excited for exploring new topics and also having a little fun! ☺️
As always, I just want to say how grateful I am to everyone who has supported this journey. The moments that hit me the most, are when community comes together, and to hear from so many of you….it has just been So. Dang. Cool! 🤍

Thank you .sheaffer for having me as a guest on The Bravest Kind! Honored to get to share our story and expand on it all. We explore intuition, vulnerability, and what it means to be brave. 😄 Take a listen and help support his podcast! ❤️

Today’s episode of The Bravest Kind is a powerful one! My guest is Tenny Jacobson who hosts Tenny, along with her husband survived an attack when an intruder broke into their home on Mother’s Day 2013. Tenny talks about her journey of healing from such a traumatic event and the importance of trusting one’s own intuition. Thank you, Tenny, for your willingness to be open, honest and vulnerable throughout our discussion. As always, the episode can be found on or or simply by clicking on the link in my bio.

If you’ve listened to the podcast...you probably know Mother’s Day has been a trickier day of the year for me and my family. 🙃 It’s been many years of uncomfortably anticipating this day and then being anxious as the day unfolds. This year, it honestly, has changed so much. ❤️
This podcast has helped me grow in SO many ways and one of the main things it has done for me is to really help me figure out who the real Tenny is. Not the Tennyson for my family, the Tenny for my friends, the mom for my kids, the Tennyson with my business...just what feels authentic for me. 😎
I’ve realized I give power to this day (and date) because of our experience and I am tired of doing that! The more power I give to the day/date the more power I give to the person who doesn’t deserve it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ And being that this is all about commonality...I know this date/day isn’t just a trigger for me...it is for so many others. With that, I am sending so much love and hope to all those out there who may feel similar. ❤️

✨This moment✨
First of all, if you are not riding with on your bike, you are MASSIVELY missing out. My favorite instructor and am just constantly inspired by her. This photo is from the ride she did for Women’s History Month where she just revealed how she shaved off all her hair. She explains it was something she had wanted to do for so long, but let her worries about other people’s opinions, hold her back from making that decision.
As she is telling her story, she gets to this moment where she says softly and emotionally, “Best thing I ever did” and closes her eyes and just smiles. It was one of those moments that you can see the depth of what that means to her. I (and I’m sure tens of thousands of others) felt honored to just observe that moment, her vulnerability, and courage.
Besides it having such an impact on my own self to try and stop always worrying about what other people think about me...it also led to a really cool conversation with my daughter about why Tunde made this decision and how I can encourage my kids from a young age to be who they want to be and not who they think others want them to be.
This is exactly what Common Ground is about and the conversations I want to explore and highlight....
So follow Tunde and then make sure to take her WHM ride from March and then let me know what you think! 💛

👋🏼👋🏼We’ll it’s been a HOT minute since I have posted here....
Truth is, some things had popped up that triggered me. I second guessed myself for doing the podcast and judged myself so much for putting myself out there when I KNEW I could get triggered. I went through emotions of just stopping this journey because I didn’t know if I could handle all the things that would be a challenge for me.
I’ve spent a lot of time talking to friends, my therapists, new resources, Kyle, meditating and praying, listening to podcasts and audio books (thank you duh😆), to really listen to my heart if all of the things that will be a challenge for me, are worth it.
With all of this, it brought me back to why I started this whole podcast. ❤️ I sincerely believe in wanting to closer connect us all and be an authentic voice of the challenges in life and just sharing that in a hopes to create more community. That includes sharing this post and the struggles I continue to have! 😎
So!! I’m going to keep working towards the next steps and see where it takes me! My little bit of encouragement is that if there is something on YOUR heart but you are second guessing yourself....pause and really reflect to see if you want to pursue. If you feel the energy towards it, then challenge yourself to explore. If you don’t feel energy towards it, then move on!
I’m certainly no motivational speaker and don’t ever want to pretend to be, but Common Ground is all about sharing this stuff, so that is what I will continue to do. ❤️

What a journey! I haven’t been the best at posting because...to be completely honest, I think I might be in what calls a “Vulnerability Hangover”. 😌 I only learned about this term just last week, but as soon as I read it, it really struck me.
This process hasn’t been hard to share our story, as it’s something that has been a part of our lives for nearly 8 years. But, it has been hard in other ways as far as putting myself out there worrying about if I did it perfectly, if people will receive it well, if people might judge me...the list goes on. 🙃
I only share this because I wonder if others, too, may feel similar. Even though these moments can be challenging, I also always think how they can be pretty exciting as well....we grow in the uncomfortable. 🌱
So whether it is a podcast you want to start doing, a person you know you need to talk to, a job you need to leave, a friend you need to reconnect with....whatever it is, it’ll be worth it!! ❤️

✨New Episode is Live!✨
In this episode, we were thankful to speak with Deana Lansing, who recently left her career as a police detective and was kind enough to shared with us another perspective in this story....what it is like to be a first responder in times of crisis.
I hope you enjoy!
