Two hundred years ago, when Americans wanted a way out, they went west.
Today, there is no new West.
But I think another frontier is starting to form.
Vans. Buses. RVs. Cheap rural land. Solar power. Satellite internet.
As housing gets more expensive, work becomes less predictable, and technology makes it possible to live farther from traditional infrastructure, the places we were taught nobody wanted start looking very different.
I interviewed four nomads already living this way and asked them why they chose it, what they’ve given up, and whether they think millions more Americans could eventually follow.
My new long-form video is now on YouTube:
Why More Americans Will Choose the Wasteland

Do you think more Americans will choose this kind of life over the next 10–20 years?
