Looking well out into the future, the National Weather Service is giving us a "heads up" for a "potential" heavy snow event that may arrive late Wednesday or Thursday, or possibly Friday. The long range models are calling for another Atmospheric River next week. The focal point of the rain and snow will impact Washington State, but the Oregon Cascades may get some heavy snow. Not able to nail down any totals, but several inches may arrive for the first big snow of December along the crest of the Cascades. This is a wait and see event, but due to the catastrophic flooding in Washington the NWS in Pendelton feels it is prudent to provide this very advanced notice. Early next week the KTVZ Local Alert Weather team will have a much better handle on the event and issue guidence accordingly in much greater detail. This far out the forcast details we will need to be adjusted frequently. Stay tuned.
