Korbyn Shaw Welcome! I'm a backcountry snowmobiler from Bend, OR. I am using this platform to share sled content and engage with other riders.

Follow along for snow adventures! I have been on motorized vehicles before my earliest memory. I was born and raised in Bend, Oregon - a community that prides itself on outdoor recreation. I studied welding and machining after high school and currently work in the field as a Manufacturing Engineer. I spend my weekends riding snowmobiles and dirt bikes, I camp, hunt, fish and I'm always looking to get out in the woods!

Join Gabe Coler, lead forecaster with the Central Oregon Avalanche Center (COAC), for Know Before You Go (KBYG) — a free, introduction to avalanche awareness and safe mountain travel. The presentation will last about 1–1.5 hours, with plenty of time for questions. This is a FREE event, and everyone is welcome to join!

This engaging presentation is designed for anyone who spends time in the backcountry during winter — from beginners to seasoned adventurers. You’ll learn the basics of:

Where avalanches occur
Different types of avalanches
Some causes of avalanches
What resources are available to you
How to minimize risk
No heavy science, no scare tactics, and no formulas to memorize — just straightforward information to help you make smarter decisions in avalanche terrain.

Whether you’re new to the backcountry or a seasoned backcountry traveler, KBYG offers fresh insights and reminders to keep your skills sharp for the season ahead!
