The main theme of my recent Hawaii trip: vulnerability. At the time, I was 6 weeks post-op from top surgery, and exposing my chest for the first time in public amidst getting weird looks from strangers was both exciting and terrifying. But being able to wear the swimwear I’ve always wanted to wear, feeling my chest whoosh through the water (whoosh is totally a word, right?), and swim in the Pacific Ocean at one of my favorite places on Earth was, again, vulnerable but extremely freeing and peaceful. Here’s to more experiences and moments of vulnerability and gender euphoria 💛🤍💜🖤

I am Maggie (and Mavi). I am non-binary. And on March 4th, 2022, I got top surgery!!!! For my whole life, top surgery felt like a dream. It felt exciting yet unattainable. Thanks to an incredible support system and care team, my dream finally came true. Gender-affirming healthcare saves lives. And I am so extremely grateful to have had access to it. Today, I am four weeks post-op. The road to get to this point has been emotional, but the point that I’m at today is euphoric. I have never experienced so much joy around my non-binary identity, my body, and my whole self. I am so proud of who I was, who I am, and who I am yet to become. Much love 🥰
