ANOK YAI

Anok Yai was born on December 20, 1997 in Cairo, Egypt, to South Sudanese parents. Her family moved to the U.S., and she grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire. She attended Manchester High School West and went on to study biochemistry at Plymouth State University before modelling full-time.

She was discovered in October 2017, when a photo of her (taken at a homecoming event) went viral online. In February 2018, she became the second Black model (after Naomi Campbell) to open a show for Prada — a landmark moment in the fashion industry.

She has appeared in major campaigns and editorials for brands such as Prada, Nike (with the Givenchy collaboration), Tiffany & Co., Alexander McQueen, and more.

Her editorial and cover credits include numerous editions of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Dazed, i-D, and other major fashion magazines.

As of November 2025, she was named “Model of the Year” by the British Fashion Council ahead.

All of us at The Elite Immigrants Magazine congratulate Anok Yai on her new award and welcome her into the family of elite immigrants

In an age where beauty, artistry, and entrepreneurship intersect, few women embody reinvention like Lexxani Azure. The Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and luxury beauty entrepreneur has turned adversity into artistry, building an empire that merges music, medicine, and glamour under one unmistakable vision: Lex Allure Beauty Spa.

Born in the United States to parents from Imo State, Nigeria, Lexxani’s story has always bridged worlds—cultural, creative, and spiritual. After years in broadcasting and aesthetics, she founded Lex Allure Beauty Spa, a sanctuary where science meets glam. Her spa quickly became a destination for high-profile professionals seeking body-sculpting, facials, and the signature Lex Allure glow.

Then came the unthinkable. A fire struck the original spa, halting operations and damaging much of what she had built. But for Lexxani Azure, the blaze was not an ending—it was a baptism. “I refused to see destruction,” she recalls. “I saw divine redirection.” Within months, she began rebuilding, expanding her brand into new states and preparing international branches that reflect her signature pink-and-rose-gold aesthetic.

Today, Lexxani Azure stands as a symbol of feminine power, resilience, and luxury entrepreneurship. Her music charts on streaming platforms while her spa empire grows across the U.S. and Nigeria. She has fused artistry with wellness, turning pain into perfume, lessons into legacy.

As Elite Immigrants Magazine highlights, Lexxani Azure represents a new generation of global women—those who rise, rebuild, and redefine success on their own terms. Her journey from ashes to allure reminds the world that true beauty isn’t born from perfection; it’s sculpted from perseverance.

America is built on the strength of immigrants. There are immigrants in every sector of the economy: entertainment, information technology, science, medical, legal, politics and anything you can think of. One thing common among immigrants is love for family and legacy. They would do anything to protect their family legacy. The House Of Gucci is showcasing in theaters this Thanksgiving and is expected to make its mark in Hollywood’s fashion history. We are not surprised that House of Gucci is inspired by a true story of the family behind the notorious Italian fashion empire. This movie is focused on the real-life story of Patrizia Reggiani, an Italian socialite, who was an outsider from humble beginnings but married her way into the Gucci family. This movie portrayed her determination and ambition to protect the family legacy. It is also not surprising to know that her role was played by no other than another icon of Italian immigrant background, Lady Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. All of us at the Elite Immigrants Magazine congratulates this elite immigrant for her soon to be released movie, The House Of Gucci. We love you Lady Gaga!

Meghan Markle says 'NO' to British citizenship. Bravo Meghan! Not everybody wants to be a British citizen. While many people pay top dollars to become permanent residents of other countries and eventually become citizens, there are people who love their original citizenship so much that you can not pay them to seek another country's citizenship. If the new country is hostile or inhospitable like in Meghan's case, there is no need to abandon the original country for one that has no ability to make your stay a happy one. The UK citizenship law requires applicants to live in UK for three years before applying for citizenship. It also requires the applicant not to spend more than 270 days outside UK. Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, left UK in January 2020, and moved to Canada where they lived for few months. They then bought a house in Montecito, California which seems to be more hospitable for them. Meghan and her husband knew that Meghan has not lived in the UK for three years and they intentionally have spent over 270 days outside UK. In other words, Meghan is saying a big 'NO' to British citizenship.

While some people criticize Meghan and Harry for abandoning royalty, the couple wanted their own identity. Since they left the UK, they have engaged in several lucrative deals and become financially independent without the help or interference of the royal family in UK. This goes to show that we do not need another citizenship to become successful in life. We only need the burning desire to assert our own identity and be financially independent.
