UTA is excited to announce the acquisition of United Kingdom-based Echo Location Talent Agency (Echo). Founded and led by Obi Asika, the acquisition further enhances UTA’s global music footprint and will provide Echo’s clients with access to the company’s full-service resources and capabilities. Asika will serve as Co-Head of UTA’s UK office alongside Neil Warnock.

“Obi and his team have built an impressive business and have done excellent work taking their artists to the next level,” said UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer. “He is a highly respected leader in the music industry and is well-versed in the global entertainment marketplace. This acquisition further amplifies our efforts to expand UTA’s presence, and I know that alongside Neil, Obi’s leadership, drive, and passion will be a vital addition not only to the UK office, but for UTA at large.”

“HACU is proud to partner with United Talent Agency to provide scholarships to college students that who are seeking opportunities in the entertainment industry,” said HACU President and CEO Antonio R. We are thrilled to welcome Jean-Rene Zetrenne as chief people officer and partner to lead UTA’s Human Resources operations across our global offices.

Asante Blackk + Innocence Project

“Everyone in this country is supposed to be presumed innocent and what those cases [Garner, Martin, Floyd] really highlight is how the presumption of innocence is not applied equally,” says Christina Swarns, Executive Director of Innocence Project. “It’s really important for us to understand that that is a flaw in the system, that’s a flaw in the way policing is done, that’s a flaw in the way we are bringing people into the system. We should all have the ability to walk down the street and be perceived by law enforcement as equally innocent and that’s a problem that we as a country are still grappling with.”

In honor of #BlackHistoryMonth, this list features a group with distinct points of view on whom they collect, how and why they purchase art, and what imprint they want their collections to leave on the world. Lewis has been collecting art for upwards of 30 years, ever since he bought his first piece at a PBS auction for $75. HBCU at UTA

Last week, UTA's Inclusion team hosted the second installment of our Historical Black College and University tour. We had over 400 students attend this 5-day virtual event, and over 50 colleagues and clients (including Anthony Anderson, Danai Gurira, Lala Anthony, David E. Talbert, Stefon Bristol, Tia Mowry, and Kamie Crawford) spoke to #HBCU students across the country.

HBCUs not only give students a quality education, but also expose them to career opportunities that have historically not been an option. As professionals in the entertainment field, we can and should be part of this important work. This tour strengthens our commitment to a more diverse workplace – it is important for us to reach this community and let them know that they have a place here at UTA and within the entertainment industry.
