We’re proud to share that Meredith DeVore, music teacher at Shades Mountain Elementary School, has been honored with the 2025 Robert E. Wright Jr. Award for Exceptional Service, one of Alabama ACDA’s highest recognitions in choral music.

DeVore was selected through a statewide nomination process that highlights educators who have shaped Alabama’s choral community through leadership, service and a long-standing commitment to students and the profession.

ā€œHer love for music and dedication to her students have shaped the lives of many,ā€ said Brian Cocke, Hoover City Schools fine arts specialist.

Bluff Park resident Krimson Revis is the Hoover City Schools Foundation's newest board member. Congrats on your appointment, Krimson!

Welcome Krimson Revis to the HCSF Board of Director! Krimson and her family moved to Bluff Park six years ago and are raising their three children on the Bluff.

A former middle school science teacher, Krimson knew she wanted to be involved and make an impact in her new community. Along with eight other women, Krimson founded Bash on the Bluff: a local, non-profit that brings free events to the community to strengthen neighborhood ties.

"I’m now deeply excited for the next opportunity to serve my community in yet another extraordinary way by joining the team of wonderful leaders that make up the Hoover City Schools Foundation," she says. "Their work directly contributes to the standard of excellence that makes Hoover City Schools what it is today. It is my hope that with my prior teaching experience, I am able to bring a fresh lens to the foundation to help maintain the continuity of that excellence."

More than a Mustang.
In our July/August issue, a father–son restoration project becomes a rolling tribute, a way to honor a life, preserve a legacy, and keep a family story moving forward.
It’s one of those stories that reminds you how much meaning can live inside the things we build and care for.
