Kyle Travers

Kyle Travers Kyle Travers formerly of Travers Brothership Singer. Songwriter. Multi-Instrumentalist.

Kyle Travers at the age of 29, has been writing songs and stunning live audiences for well over half his lifetime. Growing up in the small town of Black Mountain, North Carolina right outside of Asheville, Kyle was inundated with music of all kinds from a young age. His father, and veteran of the east coast music scene, "Hurricane" Bob Travers, began teaching his son how to play Blues and Rock mus

ic at the ripe age of 7. Papa Travers preached the importance of the blues, teaching Kyle that it is the foundation of all American music. He taught Kyle how to play, sing, and write with emotion and feeling rather than focusing their musical education on sheet music, and it shows. His teachings still ring true in the Kyle's music today, each note Kyle plays and sing is steeped in feeling and raw emotion.

Dad would have been 64 years old today. If he were here with us still - I would sing a Beatles song to him. (Take a guess which one that would be 😂)

His birthday was always a special event as he was well loved by many. Happy birthday Dad, love you man. Ahhhh emotions are flooding my system in this very moment. Grief is so complex, it can inspire so many feelings at once, trigger so many memories, and hit you like a ton of bricks - without a moments notice.

I couldn't help but search "Dad" in Google photos just now after viewing all the mental pictures that hit me. This is the first one to pop-up. This was the last, and one of the few meals I got to buy my Father at a restaurant. He was staying with me at the time and going through chemo treatment, but still was lively and happy to get out and eat after a rough week battling cancer. He always enjoyed a good Italian dish, I remember I had a good Greek salad at this meal. Wild. I can almost taste it and hear his laugh across the table..

My father's memory and music will live on in the hearts and minds of many for many years to come. I rest easy tonight knowing if he were beside me right now he would tell me how proud of me he is and how good he thinks I am doing. Afterall what son doesn't wanna make his father proud.

RIP Hurricane. 🙏

😊 Peppers and maters are officially starting to grow in our garden! And yes, that is indeed a Fender logo on that motorcycle, that is the work of my Dad, the late and great Hurricane Bob Travers.

It took nearly 33-years but I feel I am at last hitting my prime.😄

Things that are helping me grow and heal these days:

• Playing music again!
• Not drinking alcohol
• Finding out who I really am/forming my own identity/taking off the mask
• Daily long dog walks
• Hitting the gym to train
• Hanging with friends
• Trusting...it's all gonna be ok, this too shall pass
• Staying present - the past is gone and the future isn't here yet
• Grounding techniques and breathwork
• Meditation 🧘‍♂️
• Writing songs
• Spending time with my son and my family
• Confronting my shadow and being honest about it
• Spirtual practice and development
• All the love I recieve and give :)

I am living proof if your life is a total $hit $how you can turn it around, you really just have to dig in and try. Keep going y'all.

You can train most any dog to do most anything, I have had two and they have always listened to my command.

Someone one told me they listen to me and don't run off away from me when I walk because I have "divine masculinity" or am a "dog whisperer" as much as I would like to believe this to be true...I really just took a ton of time to train him properly and love him well so he loves me and lives to serve me, happily.

I feel dog training is a lost art these days, my dad was an excellent dog trainer and told me how to do it. People are just becoming more and more lazy and complacent in most everything, including training their dogs.

I assure you even a wild rambunctious dog can learn to "heel" and come when called and to stay by you, it just takes consistent effort and immediate positive gratification when they obey, or a stern "no, bad dog" when they don't.

Lastly, if you are hitting your dog to train it, you are a moron and it isn't going to learn that way, so stop it

Jack was the lead scorer of his team this season, he even got a hat trick one game. (Three goals in one game) I am SO proud of him. ☺️

This kiddo goes out every day to shoot at the goal in the yard and practice his touches. Being a Dad is the coolest thing that ever happened to me.
