Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros - Author comes out tomorrow. Are you waiting? Did you read The Fourth Wing? We are hosting a party at our Black Mountain store tomorrow morning at 10am for all of our Fourth Wing fans.
Fourth Wing took the book world by storm when it came out in May. First the book had special edges, and then it didn't. But everyone wanted the special edges. Of course, they did. They are cool! The publisher tried and tried but just couldn't keep up with demand. If you own a bookstore, this whole Fourth Wing drama has dominated the summer.
And then came Iron Flame and the hysteria continued. Bookstores have been scrambling to order copies all summer. Ordering and ordering as the hoopla grew. Some got copies. Some didn't. It's been a bit of a mess for us retailers. Then certain people started selling the book early despite the fact that we are 100% not allowed to do so, but that's a whole other story.
I'm really happy for the author and for bookstores. We don't often have a book come out that SOOOO many people are looking forward to reading. I opened my first bookstore after all the Harry Potter books came out. We haven't had a huge, can't-wait-to-read book series, so this is very exciting!
We did get our copies of Iron Flame and are ready to go for tomorrow. We even have some special edition Fourth Wings in stock. Yay! If you're in the NC mountains, head over to Sassafras on Sutton tomorrow morning and join in the fun.
