Trump's ICE is conducting an ethnic cleansing of America as we sit back and watch lives destroyed, with the MAGA minions cheering them on.
Trump's use of his ICEstapo and his deportation policies are being compared by many scholars, human rights activists, and Indigenous advocates, to ethnic cleansing and, even, cultural genocide.
When making the comparison, they point to:
"A pattern of state violence and racial targeting,
A deliberate disruption of families, communities, and identities,
And a continuation of colonial policies that seek to control and erase non-white and Indigenous populations."
Examples of this exist in U.S. history:
Native American Removal (ie. Trail Of Tears)
Japanese Internment Camps in the 1940's.
Slavery and Forced Family Separation
Operation We***ck (1950's deportations)
These were all legal, U.S. government sanctioned programs with racial targeting at their core - which parallel today's ICE tactics and practices. These actions included incarceration and deportation of U.S. citizens.
Per ProRepublica, over 170 U.S. citizens have been detained by ICE during trump's 2nd term - some beaten, tazed, or held for days without contact. Most were Latino, including children and pregnant women!
ICE, under trump, let there be no doubt, has been targeting Brown and Indigenous communities with absolutely brute force while tearing families apart, zip tieing children, and deporting people to foreign countries.
The US Supreme Court recently ruled that agents can use race to determine who to detain. This is pure, unadulterated racial profiling!
"This isn't just immigration policy. It echoes ethnic cleansing and cultural genocide. We have seen this before in U.S. history. It is a continuation of colonization through modern systems."
