God choosing you to be my dad has been and continues to be one of the greatest privileges and advantages I have in life. Thank you for loving mom so well and thank you for loving me through it all.

You saw something in me long before I ever did and you continue to show up for me and my family through encouragement and support.

Father’s Day on June 21st is approaching. We’ll be turning up the heat all weekend with some custom hot sauce for uze guyz. So good! We’ve been excited to help spice up your summer as we begin a 9 week study on Psalm 139 kicking off this coming weekend. Can’t wait. Bring your Bibles and something to write with. Deep dive comin’ up.

Tonight at Mission Church I had the privilege of honoring a living legend, Pastor Hal Schmidt. Today, he turned 99 years old. He’s the oldest yet most alive person at Mission and it’s a joy to be his pastor. For decades this man has helped people find and follow Jesus and he isn’t done yet.

Pastor Hal said he loved the Alpha and Partner courses and looks forward to the upcoming Planter Course in the fall and beginning his missional community as he heads to 100!! 🤯

In addition to all that, Hal is one of the last living WW2 veterans in Illinois. Incredible. 🫡 🇺🇸

Pastor Hal, happy 99th! I hold you in high regard. ❤️

Another Northwoods trip with the boys is in the books. No canoes or tents this time but the same laughter, pines and loons. I found a remote cabin (no electricity) in the BWCA about 15 miles outside of Ely, boat access only and it was a GEM…BONUS was its Finnish underground sauna built in 1950. Our sauna + cold plunge sessions were epic with lake temps in the mid 40’s. Our camp chef kept us well fed with a ridiculous menu, one night cooking up a “mess” of walleyes. Thankful for my tribe and already looking forward to deer camp in November.

Final date of Halle’s middle school career 😭😭😭

We spent time reflecting on the teachers, hardships and friendships that formed her most. Forever grateful for the amazing staff and leadership of WCGS and how they partnered with me and Kel in this season of parenting. Thank you!!
