It was great having Kathy Mattea in Southwest Virginia at The Millwald Theatre this weekend! Her voice, her stories and her hair are all still on point! 😍

Hey, I wanted to post this....I promised the audience last night I would. We played in Wytheville, and it was a great evening! Lots of singing and a wonderful welcome from an enthusiastic crowd! Hope we get to come.back some day!!!

Suzy sent me this yesterday, she said it popped up on some memory on her social media stuff. THIS is what I mean when I talk about bad '80's haircuts. In the early '80's there was a moment when the perm AND the mullett intersected......unfortunately.

I used to sing demos for Steve Earle on music row. We signed our respective record deals on the same day. It was my 24th birthday. I lived on music row at the time, and we had a huge party, a combination record-deal and birthday party....Steve was there.

An interesting side note. We are now the 2 most recent inductless into the Grand Ole Opry cast, all these decades later. And....Suzy sent me this picture, and she's the NEXT inductee into the Opry.
