It's never too early to start planning for your Christmas celebrations! And there's no better time to plan then Christmas in July! 😉🎄

The beloved Mountain Country Christmas in Lights will be back at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds November 27th-December 23rd! We will transform the Fairgrounds into a beautiful winter wonderland filled with festive food, arts & craft vendors, photo opportunities, entertainment, and thousands of twinkling lights. It's an annual tradition that you won't want to miss, so be sure to mark your calendars now!

The event runs every Thursday, Friday, & Saturday from November 27 - December 6th. Open EVERY night from December 11th - 23rd! (closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day)

Barking Buddies will be in the Community Room this Thursday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm! The Fannin County Family Connection appreciates Fannin County Barking Buddies for their monthly visits to distribute free cat and dog food to the community. In addition to food distribution, Fannin County Barking Buddies offers various pet-related services, including vaccine clinics, dog houses, spay/neuter programs, and they promote shelter dog adoptions!

When we mention community pets, we feel you should know exactly who the community pets are. Our Union Co. Community Kitties are two different types of pets, they are the pets of low-income residents who need our assistance to keep their kitties in their homes. They are also kitties who live in feral colonies and have no human families to care for them. These feral kitties, have heroes who put food out for them but don't claim them as their own. They want to help and can't always afford the food to feed them. Our community dogs are the pets of low-income residents who are also doing their best to make it by, yet need some food assistance to keep their dogs in their homes.

By donating food to Safe Pet Project's Food Drive's you are helping to keep these pets off the streets, out of the shelters and safe in their homes with the families that love them! You are the hero to a family in need!

This week we are asking for dry and canned food for both the adult cats and the kittens! Please, if you are able, drop a bag of dry or box of canned food out our Thrift Store and prevent another kitty from being abandoned or surrendered to the shelters!
