If you’re cleaning in someone’s house, and you break something, or something fell, or you knocked over a Lego… TELL THEM. If it’s not an expensive item, send a replacement to their door.
If it’s an expensive item, HAVE INSURANCE.
We are not perfect as cleaners, and accidents happen, but what you do after makes the difference.
Today I arrived at a clients house, and one of her watering globes outside broke. Did I clean it up? Absolutely. The outside isn’t my area to clean, but I’m not letting any of my clients little ones cut their foot on glass, not on my watch. Thought I was done with glass, but I ended up setting down a glass teapot on the counter and the lid cracked. New teapot is on the way🫖 right after I told her it happened. Placed the order in the kitchen.

I know I’ll never be perfect, but if I strive for perfection I’ll provide excellence, every time.✨

If a cleaner is wanting to do a free add on service for a holiday present in addition to something else, what would you pick?👀
1.) stove deep clean
2.) baseboard detail
3.) 1 hour holiday prep on day of regular clean
4.) 1 hour house management on day of regular clean
5.) basement or bedroom add on (if applicable)

Questions I am asking in assessments that others look at me weird for:
1.) Are you, your family members, or your pets allergic to anything?
I want to make sure that if you’re allergic to a chemical I’m not using it. Closer to the holidays I plan on bringing some goodies around, and the last thing I want is someone to be subjected to something they’re not supposed to.
2.) Is anyone in the home sensitive to smells?
As a mom with Chronic Migraines, I can assure you that if it hurts you, it’s not coming with me. I use 2 different scents through the year. One is a lavender smell, and another is an orange/vanilla smell. Both are mild enough to not cause any issues, but made well enough that they stick around.
3.) Can you tell me things that your last cleaner did that you enjoyed seeing every time?
I’ve heard it all. Some people want their pillows chopped a certain way, some people want their bedding folded down, some people just want their trashcan fingerprint free. Whatever you like, I’m here to provide. I can confidently say, that I will meet or surpass your standards.

I don’t mind being looked at like I’m crazy, I’m still going to ask.😇

I’ll never forget the day I showed up to a clean and the client said “thank you for showing up, you being here gave me a reason to get out of bed”.
Each time this happens, I’m reminded of why I do what I do.💝

Trading war stories about getting the littles off to school, crazy neighbors, and just life might have made my day.
If that didn’t make my day, the fact of her making herself bigger and louder to be seen and heard as to not scare me definitely did🤣🤷‍♀️
