Still buzzing from a FREAKING AMAZING NIGHT at Rayshell Ranch! 🎉 I had the absolute honor of DJ and hosting Korina & Matt’s wild, wonderful wedding—and let me tell you, this crew came ready to party. From heartfelt vows to a dancefloor that stayed lit all night, it was nonstop love and energy under the stars in Loxahatchee.
🥞 Matt’s a golfer and pool shark, Korina surfs and shoots pool too, so of course we had a soundtrack full of beach vibes, some classic bar anthems, and a big nod to the Green Bay Packers 🧀💚 (GO PACK GO!!).

For those who may or may not know Hugo Drax, he has served as a mentor, educator, and true pillar in the Wedding and Event DJ industry for many years. Even though I came into this business with some experience under my belt, I still learned so much from him — practical insights, professional guidance, and a sense of pride in what we do.

I believe he founded the American DJ Association, a group that helped raise the bar for what it means to be a true professional in this industry — reminding us that this career is about more than mixers and lights. It’s about service, dedication, and doing the job with purpose and excellence.

Hugo — known to many as “Dr. Drax” — is currently in final comfort care, and my heart goes out to him and his family. If you've ever had a great time at a wedding or private event over the past few decades, there's a good chance the DJ behind that experience was influenced in some way by Drax’s work and teachings.

Wishing him peace, comfort, and gratitude for all he's given us. - Best, DJ Buddy

Drax and his wife Jan as well as the rest of his family kindly request your thoughts and prayers for him at this time. Drax is currently in the hospital receiving comfort care. He is not being moved to any type of hospice care as he is past the point of being able to be moved. He is primarily sleeping and receiving what is needed for him to pass comfortably. If you have any questions about Drax please feel free to reach out to me directly. I will keep the community updated as Jan updates me.

What a night! 🎉 Dena & Nic tied the knot at Boca Dunes Golf & Country Club—and the date couldn’t have been more special: their 5-year “first date-iversary” and the 1-year mark since their engagement! 💍❤️
Originally, I was just there to officiate (yup—Reverend Buddy in the house 🙏), but they asked me to stay as a guest… and I couldn’t not bring that 3 decades of DJ Buddy magic to the party! 💫 DJ Izzy and I tag-teamed for a night full of love, joy, and nonstop dancing!
