Morning musings. You are a reflection of your habits. My habits used to be drinking 9% IPAS and smoking w**d from the time I woke up until the time I went to sleep. It hasn’t even been a year since I quit drinking and smoking. Building healthier habits and meeting the new me every day since.

Changes are slow at this stage. But consistency is what pays off. My body will reflect my daily habits. My body is a reflection of the daily habits that I have had the longest! And right now my body reflects years of not exercising after having my fifth baby and drinking a s**t ton of beer! It has only been four months of exercise and only a few weeks of walking 10k steps, and eating a simplified high protein low fat diet. I look forward to the future when my most recent habits have been around for longer than the abuse I put my body through for years. Right now I am relishing putting in the work no matter how little I can see any difference day to day. Everyday I am optimizing and figuring out what works best for me. Recovering from being sick the last week, where I feel like I pushed myself a little too hard the week before walking 30 miles and hitting the gym everyday! Training for the Spartan race. Tomorrow I’m back at it again now that I have rested and recovered! I have my diet dialed in and I am walking at least 10k steps a day, no excuses.

Unlocked a new level today. Never thought this was possible for me, let alone making it a daily thing! Looking forward to seeing my average steps over the last six months rise from 5000 to 15000! . You can only be better than the you of yesterday. It’s you against yourself. Keep rising. Keep growing. Keep challenging yourself to be better than the day before.

Walk while you wait! Why sit down and wait when those steps aren’t going to take themselves? I sit enough each day. What I need is to walk more. So any opportunity I have to walk, like while waiting for my puppy to be groomed. I walk. I went from barely hitting 10k steps a day to exceeding 15k all by changing my mentality and choosing to set at least an hour aside each day just to walk. So simple. Yet so easy to make excuses instead of taking the steps.

Missed the gym this morning, but saved my garden! Which is basically the same as going to the gym. Anything for the plant babies. Freezing temperatures coming our way this afternoon. Next up cover my baby banana plants with blankets and Christmas lights and hope for the best! Oh and say hi to Luna!

Transforming blank canvases into otherworldly scapes. I made these today to help fill the walls in my house with something that feels out of this world. In making them I’ve decided that this is something worth sharing and marks the beginning to my journey of building a gallery to include in local art markets and for sale online. No two pieces are the same. Just like no two people are the same. May we all shine like the beautiful works of art that we are.
