Over the weekend the Borrego Springs Film Institute • Festival was promoting local films and filmmakers at their Borrego Days booth.

On 02/18, 7PM the BSFI will underwrite a local screening of HAWK WATCH! Just in time for the start of the spring migration.

Enjoy HAWK WATCH as the BSFI presents the film at the Borrego Springs Performing Arts Center. Q&A afterwards with the Hawk Watch leaders and filmmakers.

Yeah! We made it to the local neighborhood bulletin board in Vashon, WA!

Not only can you plan to see The HAWK WATCH Documentary at the Vashon Theatre Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025, but if you need a few extra bucks, [email protected] is willing to buy your collection of old Duran Duran cassette tapes for a few $$.

On this same day two years ago, the cast and crew of HAWK WATCH Documentary stood beneath the with cameras rolling, capturing their epic migration south and witnessing firsthand why protecting migration corridors matters.

This week is California Biodiversity Week a celebration that encourages us all to connect with nature and contribute to conservation through citizen science.

For the Hawk Watch team, citizen science isn’t just a one-week effort. Every day during spring migration, volunteers track, record, and share data on Swainson’s Hawks. Their work begins in Borrego Springs, California, but it reaches far beyond, connecting migration paths that stretch through the western U.S., Mexico, and all the way to South America.
