Ever feel like you’re missing out on family stories? 🤔

It’s so common for families to hold back on sharing their past.

As kids or grandkids, we often don’t know what questions to ask, and we worry about upsetting our loved ones.

This can lead to losing precious stories that shape our family history.

Let’s change that! Here are a few tips to encourage sharing:

- Create a safe space for conversations.
- Ask open-ended questions that invite storytelling.
- Share your own stories to spark theirs.

What family stories do you wish you knew more about? Let’s start a conversation and keep our family legacies alive!

Meet Lydia, an eleven-year-old girl who spent 18 months adrift on a steamship called the Curson, part of a desperate mass exodus of 150,000 refugees fleeing post-imperial Russia.

Driven by love and heritage, she kept a diary that tells her story.

After five years of dedication, that diary has transformed into a powerful book: *Ship to Freedom*.

This isn't just a book; it's a resurrection of memories and connections. It even made its way to Times Square in November 2024!

Join us as we celebrate the stories that bind us together, and remember the past that shapes our future.

He didn’t just survive the diagnosis - he rewrote the whole story.
If you need a reminder that you’re stronger than you think, save this and send it to someone fighting quietly. 💥
Ray Hartjen got hit with multiple myeloma in 2019 and chose to keep going - writing, making music, showing up, and turning pain into purpose.
That’s the part people miss.
Cancer may change your day, but it does not get to own your identity.
What hit me most was this:
We are not alone in the hard stuff.
The right community can carry you farther than you expect.
Sometimes the bravest thing is simply refusing to shrink.
If you’re in a pivot, a diagnosis, or a season that feels heavier than you can hold - you are not at the end.
You might be at the beginning.
What’s one thing you’re choosing to keep going with today?
today Ray is joining us episode drops at 9 am tune in for Spotlight wednesday featuring Ray Hartjen

He said the thing most people only whisper after a diagnosis:
You are stronger than you know.
If you need that today, save this.
Ray Hartjen has lived a lot of lives - banker, writer, musician, cancer patient, advocate - and through all of it, he kept one thread alive: tell the story, don’t hide it.
When multiple myeloma hit in 2019, he didn’t disappear.
He wrote the book.

He kept making music.

He kept showing up for other people.
That’s the part that gets me - not surviving, but choosing to stay open, stay useful, and stay human.
Maybe that’s the real shift.
Not “why me?”

But “what now?”
joins us tomorrow 9 am on uncle jimmys podcast where we go all in. Thanks Ray for joining us from my heart to yours. Keep fighting keep being you much love brother and respect.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is right now.

If you needed a sign to stop waiting, this is it. 🌱
Drop a 🔥 if you’ve been putting off something that matters.
Ray said the line that hit me hardest:
You are stronger than you know.
You are not alone.
Don’t focus on finishing - focus on starting.
He’s lived through multiple pivots, a cancer diagnosis, and still chose to keep creating - books, music, purpose, community.
That’s the reminder I needed today:
your story is not over, and this moment still counts.
What’s one thing you’ve been waiting too long to begin?
If this hit you, send it to someone who needs the push.
