LIBERIA NATIONAL POLICE RECRUITMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

The Liberia National Police (LNP) 2026 Recruitment Drive is now open to the general public. Interested individuals who meet the requirements and qualifications outlined below are invited to carefully read and strictly follow all instructions provided.

APPLICATION PERIOD: September 18, 2026-November 8, 2026 at 9:00 A.M to 4:00 P.M Mondays - Fridays.

ELIGIBILITY: Liberian citizen only between 18 and 35 years. Must have no criminal records, and not a member of any political party.

REQUIREMENT: Applicants must come along with the following:
• Copy of high school certificate (WAEC/WASSCE certificaterequired) or higher qualification
• four passport-size photos
• three letters of recommendation, one from:
. authority of high school or university attended
community leader
. religious leader
• copy of a national identification card, birth certificate, passport, or voter’s ID card.
• a Police Clearance is required when applicable
• a recent medical report from a recognized hospital (before entry to academy).

WHERE TO APPLY: Application forms will be available at the various county Police Headquarters as follows:

Montserrado Region (at the Liberia National Police Training Academy) from September 18 – Oct. 1, 2026 and
Region 1 (Grand Bassa, Rivercess, and Margibi Counties) from September 18 – October 1,2026;

Regions 2 & 3 (Bomi, Gbarpolu, Cape Mount, B**g, Lofa and Nimba Counties) from October 5 – October 18, 2026;

Regions 4 & 5 (Grand Gedeh, River Gee, Maryland, Grand Kru, and Sinoe Counties) from October 26 – November 8, 2026.

BREAKING: JUDGE FEIKA GRANTS JEWEL HOWARD-TAYLOR COMPASSIONATE RELEASE OVER MEDICAL CONDITION.

MONROVIA, LIBERIA — September 4, 2026: Criminal Court “C” Judge Ousman F. Feika has granted former Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor’s request for compassionate release from detention.

The decision follows concerns raised by Howard-Taylor’s legal team over her medical condition and their request that she be allowed to receive medical care outside detention.

The ruling means Howard-Taylor should turn over every travel documents to the court.And that a family member and her physician her physician assistant are those that should visit at her residence.

Jewel Howard-Taylor Appears in Court With Lawyer — Will She Walk Free or Face Circuit Court?

MONROVIA, LIBERIA — Former Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor is currently at the Monrovia City Court with her lawyer as she faces a preliminary examination in connection with criminal charges filed against her.

The former Vice President is expected to appear before the court as prosecutors seek to establish probable cause — meaning whether there are reasonable grounds to believe that a crime was committed and that Madam Howard-Taylor may have been involved.

The hearing is not a trial, and the court is not expected to determine tomorrow whether she is guilty or innocent.

During the preliminary examination, the prosecution is expected to present evidence and may call witnesses to support its case.

Madam Howard-Taylor’s legal team will have the opportunity to challenge the prosecution’s evidence and question any witnesses presented.

At the end of the hearing, the magistrate will determine whether the prosecution has established probable cause.

If probable cause is established, Madam Howard-Taylor could be held to answer before the Circuit Court, allowing the criminal case to proceed to the next stage.

However, if the magistrate finds that the prosecution has failed to establish probable cause, the law provides for the accused to be discharged at that stage.

A discharge during a preliminary examination does not amount to an acquittal. It simply means the prosecution did not meet the required standard to move the case forward at that point.

The major question before the court, therefore, is whether the evidence presented by the prosecution is sufficient to establish probable cause against the former Vice President.

For now, Madam Howard-Taylor remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in accordance with the law.

All eyes are now on the Monrovia City Court as the legal battle enters another critical stage.
