My 4th grader finally understood math after MONTHS of struggling…
Then she took a test.
She got 2 questions wrong out of 25.
That’s a 92%… right?
Nope.
The teacher gave her a 50% 😳
Why?
Because she didn’t use the “approved method”… even though every answer was correct.
When I asked about it, the teacher basically said:
👉 “Do it my way next time or it’s a zero.”
So yeah… I went to the principal.
They ended up forcing the teacher to change the grade.
Now my daughter can solve problems her way—as long as she shows her work.
But now my wife says I caused unnecessary drama…
That I should’ve just let it go.
So now I’m wondering…
👉 Was I wrong for stepping in?
👉 Should teachers grade based on method… or correct answers?
💥 What would YOU do in this situation?
💥 Did I overreact… or do more parents need to speak up?
