Carol continues to write with deep insight and tenderness from her home in Seattle. In her latest blog post, she reflects on sleep, dreams, and the pull of the past.

We love seeing Gemma authors share their HiLo books and teaching resources with the literacy community! 📚✨

Our friend, Gemma author, and applied linguist Greta Gorsuch attended the 2025 Iowa Literacy Summer Conference in July. Her presentations showed how Gemma’s HiLo books and other readers can support adult learners with fluency and comprehension.

Thank you, Greta, for sharing your expertise and passion…and for representing Gemma! 👏

Gemma Literacy’s Yellow House series uses a theme of chain migration in stories that adult English language learners can find familiarity in and read with ease.
