Meet Laurie Foos! ✨

Laurie is one of our many stellar Gemma authors. Over the years, she has written three Gemma books - THE OTHER, THE GIANT BABY, and TOAST.

She is also the author of several novels, including EX UTERO, which was translated into five languages and adapted for the stage. Laurie teaches in the BFA program at Goddard College and the MFA program at Lesley University. She lives on Long Island with her two children.

We’re grateful for Laurie’s creativity and dedication to writing stories that inspire emerging adult readers to fall in love with reading. 💙

They generously share their time and talent to create engaging, age-appropriate stories that capture the attention of emerging adult readers. 💙

Susan Thompson is no exception. As Gemma’s first mystery author, she has written THE TWO-WHEELED DETECTIVE, THE MUSEUM OF ODDITIES, and an upcoming third book in the series which we can’t wait to share! 🔍

With 20 years in the adult literacy field, Susan saw firsthand the lack of relevant and accessible books for her students. She began writing and adapting stories to meet that need, and her work continues to inspire.

When she is not writing, Susan loves walking around her hometown of Brooklyn where enjoys seeing the constantly changing urban landscape. A lifelong mystery fan herself, Susan hopes your students will enjoy following the adventures of Tami Tripper, the determined young sleuth at the heart of her series. 🚲
