CAMINO DE SANTIAGO:
Walking for the Children of Valley of Angels.
We are getting excited for this prestigious 500-mile walk, a 35-40 day journey that starts in France going into and across Spain, ending at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, northwestern Spain. Tradition holds that the remains of the apostle St. James are buried there. With only a little over a month away, today's training was a little over 11 miles, and over the next month, it will be increased to 15 miles per day to be journey-ready.
We will be walking for the Children of Valley of Angels in Guatemala as part of St Leonard's Parish, North End, Boston Mission Group with 100% of all donations going to our ongoing projects at Valley of Angels following the creed of founder Fr. Rocco Famiglietti, a Franciscan affectionately known as Papa Rocco, who has built a legacy of love. With his insistence on giving the “best to the poor” rather than giving them the “leftovers”, Papa Rocco affirms their human dignity through beautifying their environment; not only using the highest quality materials and the best architectural designs but by manicuring God’s natural beauty seen in creation.
