Blast from the past- 1993 World Championships and I got to paddle this wood strip open canoe prototype by Dagger. This boat is at the take out of Daddy's Creek at the Lilly Pad today. it is a "plug" that the actual production canoe was made from. I didn't win, but I did get 4th in Canoe. I did win in kayak however. I was a big fan of the HF team gear seen here in the photo back then. My helmet is a "Savage" helmet from Corran. 29 years old at "hell hole" on the Ocoee... Fun times!

Just wrapped up my 4th lap of the circuit. Didn’t see a soul until end of 2nd day, and of course we saw them camped at Fry Lake narrows lol.. pleasantly surprised to find some nice beach camping just inside Campbell Lake. Out of the wind, and nice morning sun before we pushed off. Rivers were running at summer low… always a good time up there.

We are so super proud of our very own Matt Stephenson (raft guide, coach and Duty Manager here at the centre) who is competing in the Freestyle European championships this year in Neitikoski, Eastern Finland.

Yesterday (Friday), Matt paddled in semi finals kayak with some amazing paddlers, finishing 6th. Today he is competing in C1 finals at 11:40 (9:40 UK time).
