And so it begins already…the infighting among the GOP and the work to undo the will of the people of Missouri.

“On day one, your speaker must address and tackle Amendment 3,” Sparks said Sunday on a Facebook live video, foreshadowing future legislative battles over abortion.”

Republican Rep. Justin Sparks said he plans to challenge Jon Patterson for speaker of the House because of recent comments about abortion.

First, I want to thank every single one of you, our volunteers, our supporters, and those who believed in this campaign. You stood by us through every challenge, and I am deeply humbled by the trust you placed in me. We ran a campaign focused on issues that matter, with integrity and with the people of this district at the heart of everything we did.

Congratulations to John Hewkin. This election was not just about one person winning or losing - it was about representing all the people of our district.

I’m deeply grateful for this experience and for the chance to meet so many dedicated individuals across our community and even make some new friends. Thank you again for your unwavering support. While I may not be your representative, I remain committed to our shared goals and dreams for this district.

Today is the day we’ve been working toward for over a year. 🗳️

I’ve spent the past year out in the district, talking with folks just like you—at events, coffee shops, parades, and even on front porches. I’ve listened to what matters most to you and what you need from your representative. Now, it’s time to make your voice heard.

Polls are open from 6 AM to 7 PM, so if you haven’t voted yet, make a plan to get to the polls. And please, remind 5 friends to vote too—we need everyone to show up today!

Due to the heavy rain we’ve received over the past couple of days, severe flash flooding is happening across the district. Please BE SAFE as you venture out for work or as you head to the polls.

🌧️ Flash Flood Warning! Stay Safe! 🌧️

Due to recent heavy rains, our area is currently under a flash flood warning. Flash floods can happen suddenly, so please take precautions to stay safe! Currently in Steelville Main St. is shut down from Mobil to Action Auto Sales. Some areas have or are in the process’s of evacuating. If you are in low lying areas you may be affected. Please stay aware, and turn around, don’t drown.

Our dispatch has been evacuated but is setup remotely. All 911 calls will go to Phelps County 911 and redirected to the remote setup. Please be mindful of what an emergency is during this time.

Safety Tips:

• 🚫 Avoid driving or walking through flooded areas — it only takes a few inches of water to lose control of your vehicle or get swept off your feet.
• ⬆️ Move to higher ground immediately if you’re in a low-lying area or near streams.
• 📱 Stay informed by checking updates from local weather services and officials.
• 💼 Be prepared with essentials like water, food, and any medications you might need in case of emergency.

They keep pushing division to distract us, while real issues like bringing our tax dollars back to the district, affordable housing, and reproductive rights are left behind.

We deserve better. You deserve better.

No-excuse, in-person absentee voting is still available, so make your voice heard. Visit the Crawford or Dent County Clerk's office to vote early before Election Day sneaks up on you.

🚨 One Week Until Election Day! 🚨

Have you voted early yet? 🗳️ If not, there’s still time to head to the County Clerk’s office in Crawford and Dent counties and cast your ballot early!

We’re encouraging everyone to vote early if possible — it’s quick, easy, and avoids any Election Day rush. Remember: Election Day is Tuesday, November 5th, and every vote matters! There is no November 6th.

In the 2022 general election, 51% of registered voters in district didn’t vote. Let’s not let that happen again.

Make your plan, vote early, so we can build a better future for our district and Missouri!

Thank you, Dent County Elections/County Clerk-Angie Curley for making this very informative video of how to vote during early voting in Dent County. It will be a little bit different in Crawford County, but you will still go to the County Clerk’s office in Steelville with your I.D.

I hope this alleviates any anxiety some people might feel about voting early. Reach out with any questions!

This is another important race on the ballot. Barbara Phifer is not here to play political games - she's here to serve. She understands that this office isn't about drama or headlines; it's about focusing on what matters most.

In the Missouri secretary of state race, state Sen. Denny Hoskins, the Republican nominee, wants to mandate hand-counting for all elections.

"In making the case that the states have standing this time, the attorneys general contend access to mifepristone has lowered “birth rates for teenaged mothers,” arguing it contributes to causing a population loss for the states along with “diminishment of political representation and loss of federal funds.”"

Please, take a moment to read that again. Their argument is that the medication is lowering TEEN BIRTH RATES which is harming the state because it's causing a population loss. Are you kidding me right now? The GOP and Andrew Bailey want to increase teen birth rates? Sickening.

This is why it's imperative that we vote for Elad Gross For Missouri to be our next Attorney General and Crystal Quade to be our next Governor. We need leaders who actually care about the people of Missouri, not about political power and control.

Missouri’s attorney general has renewed a push to restrict access to the abortion pill mifepristone in a lawsuit filed in Texas.

I've had several people reach out asking for my thoughts on candidates and ballot measures, so I wanted to share my recommendations for those on my ballot. That said, I always encourage you to do your own research to make the most informed decision.

For those of you voting in Dent County, I would recommend Randi McCallian for Missouri for U.S. Congress District 8. Your State Senate District 16 seat isn't up for election this year.
