Mae Mae & Me

Mae Mae & Me Mae Mae & Me was created as a way to step away from screens and return to simple, hands-on skills.

As a stay-at-home mom, I craft, sew, plant, and create alongside my toddler—teaching her patience, creativity, and the joy of making things by hand.

If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been this past week… apparently I decided to renovate my entire exterior. 😅

It started as, “I’ll just freshen things up a little.”

One week later…
✔️ Covered in dirt
✔️ Sore in places I didn’t know existed
✔️ Me - Looking worse
✔️ House - looking better

At this point, even the house is screaming, “HELP!”

Slowly but surely, this fixer-upper is starting to take shape 🤍🤍🤍

☕️ Coffee Thought ☕️

It can be hard now… or harder later.

We are officially in the “I want it my way” stage, and let me tell you… it isn’t easy.

There are big feelings, loud voices, tears, and misunderstandings sprinkled throughout our days. Some moments would be so much easier if I just gave in.

But then I remind myself: I’m not just parenting for today—I’m parenting for the adult she’ll become.

Teaching kindness, patience, respect, gratitude, and that not every “no” turns into a “yes” is hard work. Setting boundaries isn’t always fun, and holding them can be exhausting.

But I’d rather choose the hard work now than spend years trying to undo habits I could have helped shape early on.

So here’s to the parents choosing consistency over convenience, boundaries over battles avoided, and raising little humans who will grow into kind, respectful, resilient adults.

The hard today is an investment in an easier tomorrow. 🤍

☕️ Coffee Thought ☕️

I am drowning.

Some days I have it all under control. The laundry is done and put away, we’ve done crafts, played outside, practiced our numbers and letters, and dinner is ready. From the outside, it probably looks like I have it all together.

But then there are the other days.

The laundry sits in piles. The dishes stack up. One more “Mom?” feels like it might send me over the edge.

Did anything terrible happen? No.

Some days, it all just feels like too much. And that’s okay.

Not every day has to be productive. Not every day has to be picture-perfect. Sometimes surviving the day is enough.

So here’s to the days when we don’t have it all together… when we hide in the bathroom for an extra two minutes just to enjoy a little quiet and a break from being touched.

And if no one has told you today…

Mama, you’ve got this. 🤍

I don’t want to give my daughter everything.

I want to give her stories.

The kind that start with:
“Remember when we…”

Those are the things she’ll carry long after the toys are forgotten.

So we’ll keep chasing sunsets, taking the long way home, exploring new places, and making memories every chance we get.

Because life is short, and the world is wide. 🤍

☕️ Coffee Thought ☕️

Life is short, and the world is so much bigger than our comfort zones.

I don’t want to spend these years saying, “Maybe next summer” or “When life slows down.”

I want my daughter to grow up knowing adventures don’t have to be expensive or far away. Sometimes they’re a bike ride to the park, a walk down a trail, camping for the weekend, or taking the scenic route just because.

The places will fade.
The memories we make together won’t.

☕️ Coffee Thought ☕️

I spent so much of my life making sure no one ever felt left out… until I realized I was the one who often felt left out.

For a long time, I thought being the one who reached out first, remembered the little things, and made space for everyone else was just who I was—the middle child, the people pleaser. And in many ways, it still is.

But somewhere along the way, I realized it’s okay to want that same care in return.

Then motherhood made that feeling even louder. As moms, we pour so much of ourselves into everyone around us that we rarely stop to ask if our own cup is being filled. We don’t think twice about putting ourselves last… until one day we realize we’ve been running on empty.

Maybe we should take a lesson from what we teach our children: you can’t pour from an empty cup.

So here’s to finding—and becoming—the kind of people who check in, remember the little things, celebrate each other, and pour back into the lives that pour into everyone else.

Because you deserve friendships that fill your cup, too. 🤍

☕️ Coffee Thought ☕️

As moms, it’s easy to see the tantrums, whining, meltdowns, and endless “no’s” as defiance—especially when we’re tired ourselves. But more often than not, our little ones aren’t trying to make our day harder. They’re overwhelmed by feelings they don’t yet know how to name, understand, or regulate.

That doesn’t mean every behavior is okay. We can hold boundaries while still leading with compassion.

Sometimes what looks like “bad behavior” is really exhaustion, frustration, hunger, disappointment, or simply a child needing someone to help them feel safe again.

On the hard days, I try to remind myself that my job isn’t to have a perfectly behaved child. It’s to help raise one who knows they’re loved, even while they’re learning.

Maybe today, both of us just need a little extra grace. 🤍

☕️ Coffee Thought ☕️

Every day, I lose my baby a little more…

She’s becoming so independent. She wants to do everything herself, has opinions about everything, and reminds me daily that she’s growing faster than I’d like.

But last night, she was tired, overwhelmed, and a little grumpy. I asked, “Do you need a hug?”

Without saying a word, she ran to me with her arms wide open and melted into my chest.

Within minutes, she was asleep.

For a moment, time stood still. I wasn’t chasing a busy toddler or negotiating bedtime. I was simply holding my baby again.

Those moments are becoming fewer, which makes them all the more precious.

They remind me that no matter how big she gets…

She will always be my baby. 🤍

Okay, I know in true mom fashion I’m a few days late… but honestly, that feels pretty on brand. 😂
June was full of messy moments, little adventures, growing toddlers, late nights, and so many memories I don’t want to forget.
Here’s to a new month of sunshine, slow mornings, outdoor days, and soaking up the little moments because they really do go by too fast. 🤍 ☀️

☕️ Coffee Thought ☕️

Last night, all we needed to do was run a few errands. We could have rushed through them, checked them off the list, and headed home. Instead, we decided to make an evening of it.

On the way back, we took the scenic route just to see where it would lead. We stumbled across the sweetest little park and later found a beach we didn’t even know existed. We let Mae Mae play, soaked up the evening sunshine, and discovered a place we’ll definitely be coming back to.

As we were driving home, Mae Mae looked over at her dad and said, “Fun day, Dada.” 🥹

To her, it wasn’t an errand night. It was an adventure.

It’s such a good reminder that our kids don’t always remember the big, expensive trips. They remember when we slow down, say yes to one more stop, take the scenic route, and turn an ordinary Tuesday into something special.

That’s where the magic of summer really is. ☀️
