A few recent takeaways:
1. You can plan the content calendar. You cannot plan the content. Some of our best stuff starts with “wait…what if we did this?”
2. Knowing our clients REALLY well might be our biggest advantage. Their humor, their people, what they’d say, what they’d never say… all of it matters.
3. The smallest details somehow end up being the biggest details.
4. Good content doesn’t always need a strategy behind it. Sometimes something is funny, cool or worth sharing…and that’s enough.
5. The person you work next to matters a lot. Find someone who catches what you miss, has a good eye, cares just as much + makes you laugh when the days get to be a lot. (Semme, you rule !!!!!) 🤍
6. More content ≠ better content. We’d rather leave a shoot with 10 things we’re excited about than 30 things that are just…fine.
7. People can tell when something feels forced. We’ll take real over perfect any day.
8. You can have systems, schedules + plans for everything and still spend a decent amount of time figuring it out as you go.
9. The more businesses we work with, the more convinced we are that no two should look or sound the same.
10. The relationships are the best part. Somewhere along the way, you stop feeling like “the social media people” and start genuinely caring about the businesses + people you get to work alongside.
