Old 55's 100% Sweet Corn Bourbon is one of the more unique Indiana bourbons I've tasted. Rich, oily, maple-heavy, loaded with char and sweet corn, and unlike almost anything else I've had from a craft distillery.

K.Luke Wh***ey Company’s Blended Straight Bourbon is a great example of what good blending can accomplish. Indiana + Kentucky bourbon, 7 years old, and packed with sweet corn, maple, caramel, oak, barrel char, and spice.

Penelope Bourbon Riviera Lumiere had all the ingredients to be a standout release, but the proof completely overwhelms the wh***ey. Great finish, rough journey getting there. One of the biggest disappointments I've had from Penelope.

This Dragon's Milk Toasted Cask bourbon drinks like a bourbon made specifically for stout lovers. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, toasted oak, and marshmallow create a rich dessert-like profile while still tasting like real bourbon. Big thumbs up from me on this release.

Most people know 3 Floyds Brewing for b**r, but their Blanq Reavers Rum deserves some attention too. Sweet sugarcane, green apple, herbal spice, and an incredibly smooth finish make this one of the biggest surprises I've had from an Indiana craft distillery.

Green River’s barrel proof wheated bourbon might be one of the easiest-drinking 61% pours I’ve had in a while. Sweet apples, cinnamon spice, herbal notes, and a finish that keeps pulling you back in.

Copper & Cask's Cigar Blend Bourbon is a fantastic example of how multiple finishes can enhance a wh***ey without overwhelming it. One of the better cigar blends I've tried recently.

Larrikin Bourbon Company single barrel rosewater bourbon picked by Handy spot Ashley Indiana & Handy spot Wanatah is one of the most unexpected pours of 2026. Think raspberry pastry, vanilla cream, and soft floral bourbon wrapped in a 9-year Kentucky base. It’s strange—but it works.

Green River's Double Oak Toasted Bourbon is a fantastic example of how a toasted finish should be done.

Toasted marshmallow, maple candy, graham cracker, sweet oak, and plenty of rich bourbon character. The finish enhances the wh***ey without overpowering it. One of the better toasted bourbons I've had recently.

Larrikin Bourbon Company continues to push the boundaries of what bourbon can be, and this Rosewater Single Barrel may be one of their most unique releases yet. The first in the NATION selected by Handy spot Wanatah in Northern Indiana, this nine-year-old bourbon combines traditional Kentucky bourbon character with the subtle influence of in-house distilled rosewater.

• Age/Mash Bill/ABV: 9 Years Old • 75% Corn, 21% Rye, 4% Malted Barley • 56.1% ABV.

• On the Nose: Vanilla, caramel, charred oak, burnt sugar, fresh roses, hibiscus, and soft floral sweetness.

• On the Taste: Raspberry-filled pastry, vanilla cream, brown sugar, oak spice, sweet corn, and lingering floral notes.

• Grade: A-.

What impressed me most was how well the rosewater was integrated. It never overwhelms the bourbon itself, instead elevating the sweeter notes and creating a profile that feels both familiar and completely unique. If you enjoy experimenting with different wh***ey styles, this is absolutely worth seeking from Handy spot Wanatah or Handy spot Ashley Indiana before it is sold out!
