Definitely she has a place in a Filipino. Barbie Hsu, a known animal rights advocate, once had a dog who got ill. She promised she would become vegetarian if the dog recovered. And the dog did, and Barbie fulfilled her promise.

I'm going to try and get back in the saddle and have the page sharing all of the things you guys all love again, little bits at a time, I am so exhausted mentally and physically but I will get back to myself again soon.

There are so many new rescues that have come in and Emma is working on a cheat sheet for me on who is who, because I am so out of the realm with all of them.

Looking forward to visiting the Cairngorms National Park later this week for a short stay in Newtonmore. The forecast looks good so far, and we’ll have lots of lovely walks to choose from on our doorstep.

This one is located around 12 miles from Newtonmore. It’s one of our favourites. You can either stay at ground level and walk round the lovely little lochans (Uath Lochans) you can see behind the boy. There are four of them in total and during the summer months, they’re a great place to spot dragonflies.

The vantage point the boy’s standing at is located on Farleitter Crag which can be visited during a hillier clrcular trail, that winds through pine woodland to take in this stunning view.

The only problem we’ll have is trying to decide which scenic walks we’ll do. Whichever ones we choose, the boy will be delighted that he’s out and about in his happy place again.

The storm rolled in suddenly, with booming thunder and flashes of lightning that lit up the dark sky. Rain poured down in heavy sheets, drenching the streets and sending people running for cover. Underneath a park bench, a tiny stray kitten huddled, her fur soaked and matted, her body trembling with cold and fear. Each clap of thunder made her cower further into the shadows.

Across the park, Sarah was rushing home, her umbrella barely holding up against the howling wind. As she passed the bench, a faint, pitiful meow reached her ears. She paused, heart pounding, and crouched down to look underneath. There, staring back at her with wide, frightened eyes, was the tiniest kitten she had ever seen.

“Oh, you poor thing,” Sarah murmured, her voice soft to avoid scaring the kitten further. She set her umbrella aside and reached out slowly, but the kitten shrank back, unsure of her intentions. “It’s okay, sweetie. I won’t hurt you.”

After a moment of hesitation, Sarah removed her scarf and gently wrapped it around the kitten. The little creature didn’t resist; she was too cold and exhausted. Sarah tucked the kitten close to her chest, shielding her from the rain, and hurried home.

Once inside her cozy apartment, Sarah dried the kitten with a warm towel and placed her on a soft blanket near the heater. The kitten looked up at her with cautious curiosity as Sarah poured some warm milk into a small dish. “Here you go,” Sarah said, setting the dish down. The kitten sniffed it tentatively before lapping it up eagerly.

Over the next few days, Sarah nursed the kitten back to health, feeding her, cuddling her, and even giving her a name: Stormy, in honor of the night they met. Stormy’s trust grew quickly, and soon she was following Sarah around the apartment, her tiny purrs filling the once-quiet space.

That rainy night had been the start of something beautiful. Both Sarah and Stormy had found what they didn’t even know they were searching for: love, warmth, and a sense of home

Farmers Market was a huge success!! We got all kinds of yummy fruits and veggies but boy was it windy out today - look at dads messy ‘do 🤣 My fluff was blowing all over the place
It’s the very busy winter season for us and the place was packed. Guess that’s what we get for starting our day late. Way too many people and pups and kids running around and mom was worried I would get hurt so dad carried me around. I wasn’t happy about that but I did get lots of head rubs from strangers that had to meet me

My husband is currently in the denial stage, I have no one to talk to about this. The initial shock wore off, i’m left feeling numb and trying to distract myself with our toddler. We’re running off of 3-4 hours of sleep in 48 hours and now I just can’t believe i’ve found myself joining a pet grief support group and am having to write this. We’ve only had our soul dog for four years?!?? 4. Charlie Finn, who just turned 4 on December 30th, pushed me through chemo and now there’s nothing more that I can do to get him through the pain he’s currently in! We got into the vet as soon as we could for what we all thought were UTI symptoms being displayed the day prior. He started having frequent accidents in the house, he wasn’t necessarily lethargic at this point but he also wasn’t entirely his full wiggle butt air-bud self either. We weren’t able to get him into the vet that day, so we monitored him throughout the day and into the night but then he started l vomiting. We stayed up with him to clean up after him, made sure there were no other red flags and kept him comfortable. We spoke to an on call ER veterinarian to be sure we didn’t need to urgently bring him in to an emergency clinic but we were reassured and advised to bring him in the morning. We brought him in right away that morning where they ran vitals, a urinalysis and an x-ray checking for stones or anything else. The only irregularity was his PH being slightly elevated and something to do with crystallization in his urine. No fever, no weight loss, no red flags. They really didn’t have a difinitive diagnosis, they didn’t want to rule out a UTI but also didn’t want to say 100% this is what’s going on. They prescribed antibiotics and let us know they would follow up, the initial plan was to give him the round of antibiotics for 14 days and retest his urine. We get home and now he’s not eating. He’s started to excessively drink water and wouldn’t put any kind of food anywhere near his mouth. He’s more lethargic and seemingly unsteady on his feet. We diluted the tablet in a syringe of water, got most of that in him and snuggled up next to him. I’m up late trying to catch up on school-work, at this point i’m running on 3 hours of sleep so I have no idea how i’m still awake but when Charlie started seizing I knew exactly why. His first ever seizure, my first ever witnessed seizure by anyone, anything. He was drooling at the mouth and having an excruciatingly looking grandmal seizure for no more than two minutes. 😭 I called the emergency vet again right away, they again reassured us that if they were longer than 5 minutes to bring him in urgently but he may have more than one with the UTI infection. He ended up having 3-4. We witnessed 3 but after running on 3 hours of sleep at now close to 48 hours we ended up passing out with him laying next to us around 4-5 in the morning. We woke up and he was on the floor, just laying there with his eyes heavy. He had a water spot next to him so we aren’t sure if it was another seizure or he peed or what. Either way we went into the Vet as soon as they opened at 7:30. They ran bloodwork this time and they show his kidneys are failing. They ask us if there’s any possibility he ingested something but theres just no way, he’s not the type of dog to rummage through things and when he tears apart his toys even he’s not interested with the inside fluff or anything. Were mindful what we feed to our kids, ensuring grapes and raisins, onions even are either eaten and monitored or not at all as both Charlie and our other dog Teddy love scounging for dropped goodies. This is where they mentioned lyme disease and a possible congenital defect or disease. We ruled out lymes disease with a test and now we’re more so treating him for the 10% possibility that he injested something or this is a fluke. A god forsaken fluke and he spontaneously went into renal failure due to an underlying disorder that was never detected. We can’t help but blame ourselves, what the hell did he get into?! It’s just not possible but what did we do! We could have prevented this?! All of this pain that he’s going through could be our fault. He’s currently at the clinic doing a 24HR dialysis type treatment, they left us with low odds but we’re trying to remain hopeful. Easier said than done. His eyes were heavy, he looks defeated. 😭 I guess i’m posting this to hear any positive related experiences, if anyone has gone through a similar occurrence and their dog miraculously got better with the infusion treatment. They mentioned if this does work it will now be a lifelong battle with medications offsetting his new kidney function. Thank you if you’ve read this far. I hope it’s okay to ask for any and all prayers. Were currently having to grieve our dog while he’s still here, but also isn’t at the same time.

I CAME ACROSS A CAT WITH AN ID TAG IN MY GARDEN – AFTER CALLING THE NUMBER, I TURNED DOWN $100,000, BUT I FOUND HAPPINESS
At 38, I finally did it. After years of saving every penny and pulling myself back together after my messy divorce, I bought a cozy little house in a quiet neighborhood. It wasn't anything grand, but it was mine. Every creak in the floorboards and scratch on the walls was a reminder of my independence and resilience.
It was a cool morning when I first saw the cat. Perched on the stone wall separating my yard from the woods, he looked like royalty—sleek black fur, piercing green eyes, and a gold address tag gleaming around his neck. I had no intention of keeping a pet, but the cat seemed to decide otherwise. He hopped down gracefully and started rubbing against my leg as though he belonged there.
Curious, I checked the tag. It had a name—Archibald—and a phone number. Out of politeness (and perhaps a strange sense of obligation), I dialed it. The line connected immediately.
"Hello?" said a deep, steady voice. It belonged to an older man.
I explained I'd found Shadow and described the cat. The man sighed with relief. "Thank you. That's my late wife's cat. He's very special to me. Where are you? I'll come get him right away."
Ten minutes later, a well-dressed man in his sixties arrived in a vintage car.

✈️ Flying to Save MORE Lives—Our Next Flight Takes Off Tuesday

As much as we wish shelter euthanasia wasn’t a reality, shelters are underfunded and beyond their capacity to render care. Many simply don’t have the resources to provide food, medical care, or kennel space for the pets in need. Until more people spay and neuter their pets, these heartbreaking decisions will continue daily. That’s why on Tuesday, Wings of Rescue is flying pets from California to Salt Lake City, Boise, Arlington, and Salem—giving them their first chance at life.

Momma here~I need some big time help with Chocos page. On Jan 26th there was an immediate change I noticed. His comments dropped and his reach (the number of people that see us) also dropped significantly. There was was also a type of glitch in the system where some of you were only seeing posts from 2022. I’ve gotten a few messages where that is better, but the last couple of days, I’ve been inundated with folks that have followed Choco for years saying they cannot find him.
The only way I can see to help resolve this is to ask (beg, actually) you to:

1. Share us!!!! Help everyone find their way back please.

2. Check like and follow. I know most of you tell me you are following, but I’m afraid there’s something missing . I need you to actually visit Chocos home page and check like and follow. NOT FAVORITE , just leave it at following so I can see it from Chocos page. Also, it may actually be best if you unlike and relike and unfollow and refollow. “Follow” is on the next screen. Tap the 3 dots. If you have questions, pm me on Chocos page.
