A fair amount of the content we've put forth from day one has been identified as "misinformation." Assertions such as animal fat is heart-healthy, there is no relationship between the cholesterol you eat and coronary heart disease, "praise the lard," "butter was framed," raw millk is safer than pasteurized milk, small pasture-based farms can feed the world, maxines are poision and so forth. Substitute the "m" for a "v" in maxines. We do that to avoid the censorship that is a fact of life on social media nowadays. Yes, you read that correctly, our position is that maxines are poision. Germ theory is still an unproven theory, as is the mainstream explanation for the illness we've seen in the last year attributed to a so-called virus. Sally Fallon Morell is best known as the author of Nourishing Traditions: The Cookbook that Challenges Politically Correct Nutrition and the Diet Dictocrats. This well-researched, though-provoking guide to traditional foods contains a startling message: animal fats and cholesterol are not villains but vital factors in the diet, necessary for normal growth, proper function of the brain and nervous system, protection from disease and optimum energy levels.

Sally’s lifelong interest in the subject of nutrition began in the early 1970s when she read Nutrition and Physical Degeneration by Weston A. Price. Called the “Charles Darwin of Nutrition,” Price traveled the world over studying healthy primitive populations and their diets. The unforgettable photographs contained in his book document the beautiful facial structure and superb physiques of isolated groups consuming only whole, natural foods. Price noted that all of these diets contained a source of good quality animal fat, which provided numerous factors necessary for the full expression of our genetic potential and optimum health. Sally applied the principles of Dr. Price’s research to the feeding of her own children, and proved for herself that a diet rich in animal fats, and containing the protective factors in old-fashioned foodstuffs like cod liver oil, liver, raw milk, butter and eggs, make for sturdy cheerful children with a high immunity to illness.

When the youngest of her four children became old enough to attend school full time, Sally applied her writing skills and training in French and Mediterranean cooking to the subject of nutrition and began work on a comprehensive cookbook that would combine accurate information on nutrition with delicious, practical recipes. She teamed with Mary Enig, PhD, an expert of world renown in the subject of lipids and human nutrition. With over six hundred thousand copies in print, Nourishing Traditions® has stimulated the public health and medical communities to take a new look at the importance of traditional foods and preparation techniques, and to reexamine the many myths about saturated fats and cholesterol. The book places special emphasis on the feeding of babies and children to ensure optimal development during their crucial growing years.

Hello. Advice please. I am making whey for the 1st time. The cloth bag suspended above this bowl has almost stopped dripping. In this bowl is the whey. But my question is about the layer of white (milk solids?) That made it through the cheese cloth and strainer that is now a thin layer above the whey. Do I need to skim this off before storing the whey?

I bought your Nourishing Traditions cookbook and started reading everything I could by Weston Price 20 years ago. Thinking back on my relatives in OK and their eating habits, for the most part they we’re doing everything right. They had a huge garden, used the proper oils and ate good protein at every meal. The change came with the quality of our food and the changes that occurred in the 50’s and 60’s . Processed and refined foods and addition of white sugar in everything. Thoughts?

Hello Sally, I have a question about Fermenting Salmon. I found a recipe adapted from Nourishing Traditions and it calls for 1/4 cup of juice from preserved lemons or 1/4 cup of whey. Can I use 1/4 cup of just lemon juice if I am also adding 1 Tbsp honey and sea salt? Will it ferment or will it just pickle? I did this and left it in a mason jar for 24 hours at room temperature and it turned out delicious but I just want to make sure its safe
Hi Sally. Just stumbled across The Contagion Myth for the first time today. My contribution to this and other discussions regarding harmful agendas being passed into policy is the following: "if we lack the oversight and/or the mechanisms to stop these, then we need to create them." While it can stop there, WE cannot simply say "Amen" and then walk away expecting Daddy-Government to hear our pleas and respond. That's what everyone is doing with every policy. Can anyone point to a time when this approach didn't mean more harms coming to good people? I'll stop looking and making remarks about what doesn't work. I'm looking for people willing to help me start something that can help prevent these things in the future, as well as roll back some of the worst ones from our present. I have STUDIED why movements against these fail or succeed, I have studied how it isn't even a question of lack of $. These are all self-serving excuses made up by those who personally profit from not having do right by society and clean their wastes, which would probably cost less than their Golden Parachutes and lobbying commissions for One Year, yet they give out both multiple times just because like ten-year-old boys they just "don't wanna?" I think we can run things at least a LITTLE better than that. Don't you?
Hi there! I'm just finishing up your latest book with Dr. Cowan. It has led me to look into your foundation dedicated to Weston A Price and consequently into fermented cod liver oil. I bought some from one of the companies recommended on your website and have started taking it, but I have two questions that I haven't been able to find answers for. 1. What time of the day is best to take it? Eg. With or without food? Morning or evening? 2. In one of the articles on fermented cod liver oil I thought I read something about taking something in addition to the fermented cod liver oil if you have liver disease. My husband has non alcoholic fatty liver disease, and I'm afraid to have him start taking this if he needs to take something else with it, but I haven't been able to find the article again which I read before in it. Would you be willing to help me?
