Our cover story for September! Jack Parker and his family. (Jack Parker)

Tucked in West Bremerton, musician and teacher Jack Parker shares a creative, music-filled home with his partner Danielle and her two kids, Eddie and Sydney. As the heart behind Homegrown Recording Co., Jack lives by the belief that music is about connection and listening—lifting others up rather than showing off. From his early days learning guitar from his dad to performing globally, he’s now dedicated to inspiring new musicians to follow their curiosity and find joy in simply playing. Recently performing with The Remedy at the Manette Music Fest, Jack brought the community together through the power of live music. Danielle, an artist with Rimbert Illustration shares that same creative spirit—leading the team that transformed the Wycoff underpass into a colorful community mural. Together, their family celebrates nature, creativity, and collaboration, embodying the heart of Bremerton’s artistic and neighborly spirit.

The Sun Sets in Manette 🌅

The sun sets in Manette—
gold folds into the bay,
light lingers on the rooftops
before it slips away.

A red bike leans beneath a tree,
its wheels still warm from day’s slow spin,
and from across the quiet street
the scent of Thai food drifts within.

We walk home through the softening air,
our footsteps slow, the world at rest—
the tide hums low, the cedars breathe,
and nature holds us to her chest.

No rush, no noise, no need to be—
just hearts aligned with dusk’s release;
the sun sets in Manette, and we
walk home in perfect peace. 🌙

Back in August, we had the joy of featuring Ian and Alison on our cover!✨ This truly special couple continues to make a remarkable impact in our community. All summer long, they could be found supporting the Bremerton Community Farmers Market— often with their sweet pup, Finn, in tow (who’s becoming quite the local celebrity 🐾). Gastro Pup even says they know little Finn!

Ian and Alison have been hard at work relocating their Mediterranean Market Shop to Quincy Square. (Vulca, the Smug Etruscan, LLC) The move has taken longer than expected as the new space needed some love, but they’re almost ready to open their doors — and we can’t wait! 🎉

🌟 Hello Bremerton! 🌟
We’re excited to introduce ourselves as the new Publishing Team for Bremerton Neighbors magazine! 🎉 Our magazine is all about celebrating local businesses, sharing inspiring stories, promoting community events, and most importantly — helping our neighbors connect.

We’ve been so busy out in the community meeting amazing people that we just now got around to setting up our page (finally!). So hello again — and welcome! 👋

You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers...

(1) Where can I get a copy of Bremerton Neighbors?
We currently mail to about 2,500 homes in the area — and that number keeps growing! Right now, we’re not taking new subscriptions, but we can add your name to the waiting list.

(2) How can I be featured in the magazine?
We love telling local stories! ✍️
