YOU AREN’T LAZY.
YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM IS EXHAUSTED.
One of the cruelest parts of Narcissistic Psychological Warfare is what happens after you get out.
You finally find safety…
and instead of feeling free, you can barely get out of bed.
You feel heavy.
Unmotivated.
Foggy.
And then the shame starts:
“What’s wrong with me? Why am I so lazy?”
Nothing is wrong with you.
For months or years, your body was forced to run on cortisol and adrenaline just to survive daily psychological warfare.
You were not living.
You were running a marathon with no finish line.
Now that you are safe, your nervous system is finally trying to come down.
But the debt is massive.
- Chronic fatigue — your system was stuck on high alert for too long
- Decision fatigue — your prefrontal cortex was hijacked by survival, so even small choices feel huge
- Sensory overload — your brain is still processing years of hypervigilance, so the “normal” world feels too loud and too fast
This is not laziness.
This is the aftermath of Neurological Battery.
Healing is not just “moving on.”
It is giving your body permission to rest while your brain repairs the damage.
Rest is not a luxury.
It is part of your recovery.
If this is what you’re living through, tell me what the exhaustion has felt like for you.
Share this with someone who is still blaming themselves for not bouncing back.
