I would like to address certain comments made about me on social media by Kim Day, 51% owner of Phat Daddy’s Subs, which have severely disparaged my character. As a former Paramedic forced to leave my position due to seizures, I became a patron of Geno’s State Street sub shop and found the food to be great. After Geno relocated to Commonwealth, I continued to dine there and appreciated the addition of pizza to the menu. Finding good pizza can be challenging. I approached Geno about his lack of social media presence and expressed interest in assisting him, as I sought to build my portfolio and generate income through social media management following my departure from paramedicine. However it became very demanding after the entire Rhonda situation, that was blown way out of proportion.
When Geno closed the Commonwealth location, the page remained dormant until he contacted me late last year, informing me that he had secured a new partner and wished to revive the page, with compensation to follow once the venture became profitable. In the brief period from January 11 to the present, I successfully grew the page from approximately 3,000 to 8,000, a feat that was achievable through diligent effort.
Yes, individuals who visited the page and disparaged Geno, referencing his prior criminal history for which he served 5 months, including work release, were blocked, as were those posting untruths hurting the reopening. I viewed it as a fresh start in this new venture. After all shouldn’t everyone deserve a second chance?
Here we are today with this entire situation escalated. I was invited to join the Board of Directors as Chairman, a role for which I had no prior experience in the corporate world, but I was willing to learn. After Geno was removed from the company due to allegations of giving away food, which Kim perceived as theft, I did not intervene, as it was not my place to contradict her assessment. I still question how one can steal from their own company, particularly given that Kim would often bring in friends to eat without charging them. Both Geno and Kim would barter with food to offset costs for services, a practice that included the POS system provider, who received free meals in exchange for allowing the company to use his land for parking. I was privy to numerous meetings with Kim & Geno, during which the primary point of contention was Geno's refusal to adjust the portion of meat on the sandwiches. As I was not invested in this issue, my focus remained on managing the social media. However, following Geno's termination by Kim, I was tasked with a significantly expanded role, including sending emails, conducting phone calls, doing interviews, hiring and firing employees, ensuring employees remained on task, and filling in as needed. On multiple occasions, I was assured that I would become a part-owner once Geno's name was removed from the official business paperwork.
However, my intention was never to own a business or be a partner; I solely aimed to assist the lady in salvaging her business, which she believed Geno had compromised. I fulfilled this role for eight days, until I recognized my worth and witnessed numerous unacceptable practices. Consequently, I sent an email to Kim last Friday evening, following a visit to the shop, where one of the employees removed the two cameras my husband and I had loaned her, as he was unavailable to retrieve them.
Following that email I have been personally attacked by Kim, the latest, making derogatory comments about the way I walk. As you can see in the screenshot I have provided.
Firstly, I must correct the notion that I order my husband around. With 18 years of marriage, my husband is a strong-willed individual who would never tolerate such behavior. While I do request his assistance, he is more than willing to oblige. The mocking remarks made about my gait were entirely uncalled for and warrant concern. Living with Systemic Lupus, RA, and having overcome cancer, I also contend with hip issues, specifically bone-on-bone contact, which renders hip replacement surgery impossible due to a newly diagnosed heart condition, Cardiomyopathy and Heart Failure, resulting from COVID -19. Under the care of a heart specialist at Vanderbilt University, I was informed that, at 54, I require a heart transplant, but my eligibility for the transplant list is compromised by my multiple health issues and the risk of rejection. With an ejection fraction of 25%, I approach each day with optimism, praying for a good day and a better tomorrow. Due to my hip issues, I do experience a waddling gait, particularly when rising from a seated position, as the pain, stiffness, and limited mobility cause difficulty walking and result in a limp. I’m am sorry, I can’t help my situation.
It is alarmingly unprofessional for Kim, as a registered nurse, to make such remarks about another individual. I am astonished by her statements. She does not warrant the title of nurse, given her disparaging comments about someone.
I regret the day I ever met or trusted Kim and I am sure Geno has to. Yes, Geno and I have spoken and I have apologized for believing all the lies that were told to me.
