Knife block project update with a local woodworker friend of mine (the maker). This is using my claro walnut and mappa and it’s safe to say I’ve been in love with it every step of the way. These can be customized to accommodate specific knives. In my case I wanted a japanese oriented sizing for my different meat and vegetable knives. I have the width accommodating my Nakiri vegetable knife, Mioroshi Deba, two different gyuto, and a beak style petty knife. ( more pictures to come!

Here’s a preview of the work we are doing. This is a cad program where we have the slabs in the software and are cutting and modifying the available wood to fit how we see best. These files will be used to cut our slabs into their perfect shapes on the CNC machine and fit into a 20’ by 5’ “puzzle” style conference table

A new coffee offering! This single origin from Rwanda is what’s referred to as “peaberry” and has a great soothing and smooth flavor. I taste notes of tea and honey with a rich melon and peach glow in the body 🍈 🍑 🍯 🍵
Fun fact: Peaberry describes that the cherry grows one single seed(coffee beans) instead of the normal two seeds.
