It has been an honor to build this challenging and beautiful conference table for the Ellen Noel Art Museum. 9 large high figure English walnut slabs were used creating perfectly fitted pieces in this table top

A new look at our currently huge and quite challenging project for
You’re looking at our 3d design used to identify and cut each slab to its puzzle piece shape using our The design is partnered between myself and We have took photos to scale of each slab, brought them into Fusion 360, made a layout of overlapping parts and voids to fill, then created lines between the overlapping to create slabs which fit together like a puzzle. This work all sums up to a 20’ x 5’ puzzle piece conference table! I’m super excited to show the final results as we keep pushing forward in this complex piece!

Knife block project update with a local woodworker friend of mine (the maker). This is using my claro walnut and mappa and it’s safe to say I’ve been in love with it every step of the way. These can be customized to accommodate specific knives. In my case I wanted a japanese oriented sizing for my different meat and vegetable knives. I have the width accommodating my Nakiri vegetable knife, Mioroshi Deba, two different gyuto, and a beak style petty knife. ( more pictures to come!

Here’s a preview of the work we are doing. This is a cad program where we have the slabs in the software and are cutting and modifying the available wood to fit how we see best. These files will be used to cut our slabs into their perfect shapes on the CNC machine and fit into a 20’ by 5’ “puzzle” style conference table
